For a long time, my life evolved around my family and career. To broaden my circle of friends, I contemplated joining some clubs or networking groups. I was hoping to get a non-virtual networking group instead of a virtual one (as I’ve got limited IT skills). When I mentioned this to a friend she introduced the Ryze Business Network to me. My first Ryze experience was a gathering at Ellyne’s house for an entrepreneurial talk. I felt comfortable with the ryzers who attended the talk. I was impressed with what I had seen as well as with the people I met that evening. Unhesitatingly, I signed up to be a member of Ryze and consequently joined the Malaysian Muhibbah Network (MMN).

My first mixer was the 2nd Anniversary Mixer. It was a night to remember for me. Not knowing anybody but just some “hi-bye?familiar faces, I managed to blend in with the crowd fairly well. After that my mixer life started and I’ve been a regular to their functions and events ever since. I don’t regret the decision to be a part of this special group of people, many of whom I now call my friends.

My impression of MMN is one of amazement. In a short period of time, I have been accepted into the circle and through them I have achieved my intentions. The friends that I’ve crossed path with through Ryze, generally, and MMN specifically, are truly wonderful people. It’s hard to describe how truly unique and generous they are to each other and to me.

MMN has also opened business opportunities for me. I’ve had business referrals sent my way and I find that MNN is my avenue to get help when I need it. I remember times when I needed some urgent help with my work and there were my fellow MMNers who had come to my rescue without a moment’s hesitation. This is, I know now, commonplace among them. Help is always close by.

Besides business opportunities and friendship, I find that MMN is also a good resort for activities. I’m glad that the Wednesday badminton sessions has attracted a huge turn up that we unfortunately had to stop linking the events on the main page (however, you are still welcome to join our weekly fun at the court). The MMN-Boogie is another activity for those who love dancing to let their hair down and have a good time showing off their skills. Once in a while, we have our karaoke sessions; a time to sing our hearts out without having to worry about people looking at us funny.
I also remember the time when we visited the elephant sanctuary; getting up close and personal with such a huge animal. And not forgetting our food-tasting outings to the different eateries in town. Wow! I just love MMN.

With all these good people and happy events going on, I realise that I have found the right networking group for me. When network leader Navin approached me to be one of the coordinators for our member profiles, I agreed without hesitation. I felt that if I love this network and want to see it grow in the right manner, it is important that we invite members who have the same objective as the rest of us to the network. Hence, looking into the profile of potential members is important. Navin’s intention of having only people who are serious about advancing the objectives of the Network and making sure that each of them benefit from the Network is top priority. So, I am taking this opportunity to remind all members to update their profiles as it’ll keep us up to date with all our members.

My involvement in MMN has been of great experience benefiting my career as well as personal life. My expectation for MMN is non-other than to get members who are serious in helping the network grow in a direction.
