I'm a dad now! Check out Varun Shenoy:

11 August 2006: I have a NEW BLOG! Check out http://tropicalmanager.blogspot.com for my views on business, management and entrepreneurship.

14th March 2006: I don't update this much, do I? I've now started deepakshenoy.com which shows I'm getting bloody eccentric in my old age. I now blog a little more: TheUnknownIndian, a light take on all things passing and TheInvestorBlog, for Indian Investors.

This year, I shall lose weight, I had said. And the three month goal involved walking: office to home commute now happens on foot. I don't mean on foot pedalling accelerator. I mean on left foot going in front of right foot, then right foot in front of left, and so on till a bus runs me over.

Wish me luck. Better still, don't run me over.

3rd January 2006: It's a Happy New Year! Wishes to all of you.

10 July 2005: I've quit Agni and joined a new job. Yep, it just happened: Losts of new stuff in my life, and the jobs just another part of it. New job is at Flovate Technologies as CEO, India. Good stuff, and it's all happening. Watch this space.

31 May 2005: I'm married now...it kinda sorta happened :) I gotta put up photos, yes. Life's different now, but it's quite worth the wait...I'm just another happy soul today.

28th October 2004: Yes, Lazy I've been. Blame it on the rain. Milli Vanelli, if I recall right...of course, they've been dusted off the shelves now. Not that I liked em, anyhow. I'm just bored on a day when I can't afford to be. Later, folks.

17th August 2004: It's been a while since I wrote, I know. I'm not the writer I used to be. Life hasn't changed much, other than the fact that I'm a better salsa dancer, and my business is going to focus on one thing: end-to-end solutions. Clarity is here.

3rd June 2004: I just remembered - I have a blog. You might ask, why "theunknownindian"? Any references to Nirad Chaudhuri? No. The difference lies in articles. He was "an" unknown indian. I am "the" unknown Indian.

25th Jan 2004: A lonely, long, Sunday again. And there was an interesting mixer yesterday. The group's definitely VERY interesting, I must say. Folks from all walks of life, who've lived to tell their tales. Which reminds me, I need that T-Shirt. One with "Ryze, you lazy bum".

9th Jan 2004: We have a new year, folks. Happy Happy. This year's already amazing...at least in terms of work for me. I went to the ubiquitous land of Goa for the new year - and to a not quite as well known Palolem beach. That's a place and a half, ladies and gentlemen, and if you go there stay at the "coco huts" at the beach. And don't drink neera ... no matter what they tell you, because after that everything you eat or drink smells of the damn thing. The whole day. And night. Even the fish.

Okay, since the new year is on, I've decided to expand my business. And suddenly people are going ballistic! Good, of course, but the lazy bum in me needs a little breathing space! Well, there's enough time to breathe later, abhi ke liye let's get the show on the road. Later, folks.

19 Dec 2003: The mixer was great. I didn't think so many people would turn up, and boy were they friendly! Amazing stuff. The Ryze video was great, and I have got to get myself one of them T-Shirts.

Oh, and finally, my investment in Balaji tele is paying off. The markets looks good but looks like soon, in the words of the Eagles, Somebody's gonna come undone, there's nothing we can do...there's gonna be a heartache tonight, I know.

And I think another line from the song symbolizes the retail investors in the stock market: Everybody wants to take a little chance, and make it come out right.

It's terribly difficult to start writing about yourself. Who am I? What do I really do? I don't know, frankly, since these are the questions that only get answered in books costing $14.95, local taxes extra. Er...but since you're here, let me tell you about the person behind the name of Deepak Shenoy.

I'm not going to start at the beginning, no matter what they say in the Sound of Music. What I am now is what matters. I'm the CEO of Agni Software, a company I founded with two friends five years ago. We're 25 people now, and doing some good things in the Business Automation space. Think Financial Accounting, Inventory Management, Business Intelligence, Insurance and Healthcare solutions. Customers all over the world. People with the right attitude. And prospects and ideas for a better tomorrow. (So that's cliche'd. I'm allowed at least one of them, amn't I?)

I'm an outdoors person. Like to trek, hike, climb rocks and artificial walls. When stuck indoors, I like to learn to dance (the Jive, the Salsa and the like) and dabble in some theatre. I'm pheonomenally hooked on books and can read till I drop. And usually do. Music wise, I'm currently into jhing-bang music, but my longer term passions involve rock and ghazals. Yes, there is such a beast.

Oh Yes, and I studied in KREC, Surathkal. I still don't like the name NITK. If you were there, message me...I'm still a KRECian at heart, and no nitk picking about it.

Do sign my guest book - I'd love to know who's been here. I probably sound insolent, but I'm fairly easy going. I'm always game for a beer and good conversation. (The beer is optional.) I like pool also, but I suck at it.

Oh and tell me what you think of http://www.agnisoft.com.

Cheers, Deepak
