The most important thing to know about my professional style is that I am all about reducing the stress and guilt related to disorganization. That means my clutter-battling arsenal is filled with empathy, silly analogies and HOPE. Disorganization is not a character flaw--it's merely a mismatch between the systems and skills in our lives and the actual lives we are trying to lead. Therefore, there's no time to be embarrassed, just motivated to seek practical solutions. Hence, my company motto is: DON'T APOLOGIZE. ORGANIZE! My philosophy is that everything should have a home, and my corollary is that "NOT EVERYTHING has to live with *you*." That means that when I work with a client to declutter, we make no assumptions that something in a home or office actually belongs there, and then we find the appropriate place, via charitable donations, recycling or resale, for outgoing items to "live". I work with residential, home-office and small business clients. I am a generalist, working with all aspects of organizing and time management, but I really LOVE helping clients organize their paper and time. It gives me a thrill to help people find their joy by finding their desks, and teaching them to maintain their new, more organized environments. In addition to working one-on-one with clients, I also write articles, give seminars and appear on WRCB-TV in Chattanooga, offering organizational tips. I want to help as many people as possible learn how to get back their surroundings and their days, because the sooner they are organized, the less they have to apologize! My dream gig is to write a national column, answering questions and imparting lighthearted advice on how people can regain hope by saving time and money, reducing stress and becoming more productive. Here at Ryze, I hope to offer my problem-solving skills to help people brainstorm and be more encouraged about their personal and professional possibilities in life. I'm an unending source of useless television trivia and can usually point anyone towards the right research sources to achieve their goals.
