With more than two decades of experience in the human resources industry, Lina George is known for a proven track record of innovative human resources and organizational development leadership by aligning HR/OD strategies to business objectives. Her background as a human resources legal counsel balances her professional experience and education in organizational performance and effectiveness. Lina George has worked with both multi-site and multi-cultural organizations, ranging from Fortune 500s to start-ups. Market environments at these firms include high growth and turnarounds. She has been successful in leveraging human talent with diverse employee populations ranging from senior executives to entry level employees. Sterling Commerce Inc. Lina George has served since 2006 as Senior Vice President for Sterling Commerce Inc., a subsidiary of AT&T with $640M in B2B software and services revenue and 2800 employees in 40 countries. At Sterling, Lina George is responsible for the worldwide strategy and day-to-day operations in human resources policies and practices, staffing, organizational development, as well as regulatory compliance, internal communications, employee metrics, management reporting and payroll. Maxtor, Inc. Prior to working at Sterling Commerce, Lina George was the Senior Vice President of Global Human Resources for Maxtor Inc- a Fortune 500 manufacturer with $4B in revenue and 13,500 employees globally. NTT/ Verio Inc. While working for NTT/ Verio Inc., in Englewood, Colo., from 2000 to 2005 as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Administration, Lina George led the organizational development initiatives to create and enhance programs in staffing, performance management, employee development, compensation and benefits, organizational effectiveness, internal communications, global compliance, HRIS and facilities. Lina George was a member of the executive team that completed the $7 billion integration of Verio into NTT Communications of Japan. AT&T Broadband During her time with AT&T Broadband, Englewood, Colo., Lina George served as the Senior Vice President of Employee Relations and Labor from 1998 to 2000, Vice President of Employee Relations and Labor from 1998 to 1999 and Employment and Labor Counsel from 1995 to 1997. Lina George was responsible for company-wide human resources and organizational development operations and programs for over 35,000 employees in 45 states. She also served in key roles to complete the $48 billion AT&T/TCI and the $58 Billion AT&T/TCI/MediaOne mergers. AT&T Broadband (formerly Tele-Communications, Inc) was a world leading Fortune 500 telecommunications company. Earlier Career Earlier in her career, Lina George worked as an attorney with White & Steele, P.C and Great West Life Assurance Company specializing in litigation and counseling corporate clients on human resources issues and employee benefits. Educational Background Lina George earned her law degree and a bachelor of science in business administration degree from the University of Denver. She is currently completing her Masters of Arts in Organizational Leadership at Gonzaga University. Lina George also holds certificates in organizational effectiveness and strategic talent leadership. She is bilingual with complete fluency in Spanish.
