Aram Nagar II, which in the mid 1930s, was INS Ghansoli, or Camp as it is popularly called, which served as Army barracks during the British rule. Around 1947, got converted into refuge camps, during the Partition, is in the heart of Versova (a quiet suburb of Bombay, which has a history that goes back to the Portuguese rule in the 16th century!) Meandering lanes, fruit and palm trees, mud roads, two famous temples, the Amba Mata Mandir, and the Ganpati Mandir, two huge playgrounds, 400 Cottages and the Arabian Sea across the main J.P. Road, and the famous Vesave fishing village down the road, where the habitants can tell tales of the freedom wars between the British and the Marathas This is what makes Aram Nagar 2 what it is, Special, an Experience, probably the only last few Acres of land untouched by land poachers! (Well maybe the heritage society would like to step in, and help conserve this.) Everything has a history, a story. Just like we have one too�A Handcrafted Store-Y. Right from the location, to the cottages, to the handcrafted products, to everything. Cottage number 18,22 & 29, totaling around 5000 square feet, of course not considering the lanes in between that have been planted with Palms, bougainvilleas and numerous other plants that mark the road to Tribal Route. Carefully selected merchandise from a wide range of craftsperson, creative people and vendors across India, initially. Every artist, potter, craftsperson, designer, weaver motivated and inspired to out do themselves. To innovate and create products which make shopping a memorable experience�. a product which each time you use, see, brings joy and happiness. ||Color || Forms || Designs || Shapes || Cottage number 18, with its colorful facade, the traditional Tulsi plant and the custard apple tree in the courtyard �majlis�, its high sloping pink roof with Emerald green wooden rafters and white stucco walls and colorful windows, houses products that range from coasters, Tea lites and tea lite holders, candles and incense sticks , to jewelry in silver, semi precious stones, terracotta and beaded to embroidered stoles and footwear, and from exclusive studio pottery in stone ware to terracotta pots colored in vibrant colors, and from hand made paper stationery to papier-m�ch� products. The courtyards outside with its Kuddappa benches and Cement �otlas� and the Red floor, is a place for creative people to brain storm, as Tribal Route is an outlet for creative expression. At Cottage number 29, you are welcomed by a Zardozi craftsmen, working on their �Pashmina� shawls. The two storey house, is dominated by a huge winding staircase inside. Here we have teak wood furniture, soft furnishing in cotton and silk, plain and embroidered, dining accessories of Sabai grass, bamboo, wood, coconut and horn, And also paintings, in different mediums. At Tribal Route, we cater to all types of shoppers, from the college kids to the expats, and from gift shopping to lifestyle products, for yourself and the home and office, and from fashion to d�cor, and from utility to Art. We have products, starting from Rs 12/- ( of course our USP is that all our prices END in 2, or 22, or 222. At Tribal Route, our products are handcrafted and only MADE in INDIA! We do not believe in selling but an experience, that�s why we do not term it as a store, but a Store-Y, A Handcrafted Store-Y.
