Many years ago, you could walk into a store purchase any personal care product you wanted; and by the chemical name you were lead to believe the products were safe.
We have since found out that CHO2, which you and I thought was water and carbon, is in fact Formaldehyde! This chemical CHO2 is now banned, for all personal care products. No wonder is causes cancer!
Have you ever looked your shampoo? One of the top chemicals is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is a high volume synthetic chemical used in consumer product and regulated as a pesticide. There is suspicion that SLS leads to gastrointestinal or liver toxicant; sodium lauryl sulfate can be drying and harsh for the hair and cause eye irritation, allergic reactions, and hair loss. According to the National Toxicology Program, it has shown moderate reproductive effects in experiments. It has not been tested for neurotoxicity.
There are hundreds of chemical! I just scratched the surface of one chemical. I believe that if we test our skin and hair, that you would shocked, to find out how toxic we are becoming. Visualize a beautiful fish tank with all kinds of big beautiful fish swimming happily around and your enjoyment of watching them.
Now, think of your body as a fish tank. Think of the importance of maintaining the integrity of the internal fluids of the body that we "swim" in daily. Imagine the fish in this tank are your cells and organ systems bathed in fluids, which transport food and remove wastes.
Now imagine if I backed up a car and put the tailpipe up against the air intake filter that supplies the oxygen for the water in your tank. The water becomes filled with carbon monoxide, lowering the alkaline pH, creating and acidic pH environment, and threatening the health of the "fish," your cells and organs.
What if we throw in too much food or the wrong kind of food (acid-producing food like dairy, sugar, and animal protein) and the fish are unable to consume or digest it all, and it starts to decompose and putrefy? Toxic acid waste and chemicals build up as the food breaks down, creating more acidic byproducts, altering the optimum alkaline pH.
Basically, this is a small example of what you may be doing to your internal fluids every day. Because eight years ago I was going to college full time, was an ombudsman for a submarine, working 3 part time jobs, and I am a mother and wife! I lived off 1 of a good lunch, 3 coffee mochas, 6 cans of coke, and I am a recovering chocoholic. In 2000, I crashed! I had a perforated bowel and long story short I had a 3 minute death. I spent 4 months in hospital and when I came home I was totally dependent. My loving hubby had to bath, feed, change a colostomy bag, do wound care, and he was still active duty Navy.
I have spent seven and half years to get to be here with you today. I was not taught by my parents, school or by my doctors how to keep my body nutritionally fed. As a parent who has experienced the other side of the chronic health issues I am taking a stand to share with others. We are role models for our children. Proper nutrition starts at home.
