There's only integration/ setup and User Interface design and testing charges as opposed to programming charges. Open source applications run on Linux/ Apache/ MySQL/ PHP which is a cheap and widespread hosting option. Even better sites built with Open source applications would be CSS / Xhtml compliant sites complete with back-end administration. The Open source applications we use has a very large user base/ community so you're not locked in to any one supplier.
