My fight for justice ... can you help?

There are illegal constructions in one Mr.Siddharth Bhandari's residence immediately above in the apartment building where I live with my 92 yr old mother. I am 65 yrs of age. The illegalities of the structures have been confirmed by the BMC (Brihan Mumbai Nagarpalika)to me in a letter saying that the structures are illegal and that his application for regularisation has been rejected.

Mr.Bhandari's father is an influential politician, Mr.Romesh Bhandari who was the Foreign Secretary of India and then the Governer of Goa,Tripura and U.P.

The illegal structures are extremely dangerous to us. The extended bathroom over our bedroom in his house,leaked into our bedroom at one time for 7 days non-stop, gradually becoming like rainfall and spreading to the ceiling of other bedrooms, posing great inconveniences and the bigger risk of short circuits.

The ceiling of our kitchen over which he has made a marble spiral staircase is now giving way, with corroded steel rods exposed. Debris keeps falling everyday.

A drainpipe which is connecting nowhere but his floors is a mere foot away from my open balcony and tempting for anyone to climb in.

BMC is taking no action, not even replying to my queries under the `Right to Information Act'.

Bhandari is the Chairman of the Society and the Secretary, a representative of Shipping Corporation of India and does not reply to any letters including those about the danger of the kitchen ceiling caving in.

The Registrar of Res. Co.Op Socs. doesn't reply to any letters.

Is it difficult to guess why I am meeting blank walls everywhere?
