A Brief Biography

I work with Rajesh Jain at Netcore Solutions Pvt Ltd.

I am an economist with an interest in development, technology, and education. The three are inter-related. Currently I am working on creating a solution for addressing India's educational problem.

Prior to getting my PhD at Univ of California at Berkeley, I used to work for Hewlett Packard in the Silicon Valley. I have masters' degrees in computer sciences (IIT K, and Rutgers University), and an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering (Nagpur Univ.)

I was a Reuters Digital Vision Fellow at Stanford University (2001) and created a model for rural economic development which I call RISC -- Rural Infrastructure & Services Commons. I co-authored the concept paper on RISC with Vinod Khosla. Google "atanu RISC" for the paper.
