Aloha - I'm a Search Engine/Web marketer living in Hawaii. My wife and I returned here after living in the Washington, DC area for some time. We realized how much we missed life on the Islands and immediately started to plot our return. It took a lot of planning and preparation, but we feel like we're home now. Currently, I work at my own web/graphics business after doing promotional work for years back in Washington. If I had to choose a quality that makes my efforts stand out from others, I'd say it is use of humor and the ability to peak interest. Right now, I'm sure you are riveted to your seat, spellbound, as you read this text. Yes, it's a gift. ;) My goal is to work for small businesses who offer personal contact and attention. I believe that is essential to a truly great business. That is becoming more and more apparent as companies have dispensed with customer service or any real 'personality'. Frankly, I think Executive salaries should be the first area for cutbacks in lean times; But that's an argument for another time. I have just recently taken on the job of fundraising for an organization based here called United Self Help. Their focus is helping people who struggle with mental illnesses such as depression, bi-polar conditions, schizophrenia, and other conditions. They help with every area of life from support groups to jobs, computer training, assistance with finding an apt, finding low/no cost counseling/psychiatric help, and almost anything else that is needed. What makes USH especially amazing is that it is run completely by the people it helps.
