As a General Partner of Matrix Partners, Mr. Dana C. Stalder is responsible for managing the venture capital firm’s software and Internet investment portfolios. Mr. Stalder has extensive experience in developing successful e-commerce and Internet companies and knows what companies need to create and promote a successful product. Over the course of his career, Dana Stalder has been heavily involved in the success of multiple pioneering Internet companies, including eBay, PayPal, and Netscape. Mr. Stalder brings a wealth of knowledge to his current role at Matrix Partners, where he seeks to create long-term partnerships with Internet and software entrepreneurs that foster both innovation and growth. Mr. Dana Stalder has extensive experience overseeing a company through every phase of its major development, from its creation to expansion into new services and markets. Mr. Stalder received his first-hand experience while serving as the Vice President of Finance, Internet Marketing, and Strategic Partnerships at eBay. One of his most notable achievements during his time at eBay was facilitating the acquisition of PayPal, which became the company’s principal method of secure online payments made by its users. After three years at eBay, Dana Stalder joined PayPal as the Senior Vice President, where his chief responsibility was to manage the expansion of the company from acting solely as a subsidiary of eBay to an independent entity that provided services to companies outside of eBay on an international scale. Dana Stalder studied accounting, marketing, and commerce as an undergraduate at Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University. In 1990, Mr. Stalder earned his Bachelor of Science degree. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Mr. Dana Stalder enjoys playing basketball and soccer and coaches youth teams in his spare time. Mr. Stalder frequently visits Lake Tahoe, where he enjoys wakeboarding and skiing, depending on the season. Dana Stalder is also a generous philanthropist and donates to multiple charities, including the Lucile Salter Packard Children’s Hospital, Kiva Microfunds, and the Junior League of Palo Alto and Menlo Park.
