A
Little Bit About Me and Coaching
I
live, work and play in the
woods of Northern Ontario and Northern Michigan. Every day I'm inspired
by my surroundings.
Especially the creek that flows through my backyard.
I know
the power of letting
it flow.
People
describe me as pretty
high energy. But I know how to be lazy down to my core. Like an
old
hound dog, when there's something worth chasing, I'm hot on it! And
when
there's nothing to do, I do nothing very well.
Speaking
of dogs, I've got
two. Both labs. Jersey is the chocolate and Styx is the black. They too
inspire me.
I
am a graduate of Coach
University and a Certified Professional Mentor coach. I'm a
member
of the International Coach
Federation
(ICF) and an ICF Master Certified Coach. I'm also a founding
member
of Coachville, the worlds
largest
coach training organization, and a founding member of The International
Association of Coaches. I hold a Bachelors Degree in Business
Education
and a Masters Degree in Career and Technical Education. In March of
1996,
I began my coaching business, Portage. I have attracted an
international
clientele of leaders, high achievers, entrepreneurs, coaches and
visionaries.
I maintain a practice of approximately 24 clients.
I
am extraordinarily intuitive.
Passionate about all things wild, I spend as much time as possible
getting
to know myself better and testing my limits in the wilderness. I give
Mother
Nature credit for being my first coach. So my coaching style is to
guide
you toward your own truth using compassion and fun. In addition to my
regular
phone-coaching sessions, I combine my intuitive abilities and my
passion
for nature to offer Wilderness Adventure Coaching.
I
believe your transition must
be driven by a value that reflects the core of who you are. When you
get
to the who, the what and how happen naturally. Once you've defined the
goal or outcome, hold it very, very lightly and focus on the process
instead.
Gratitude for the process may take you down a path you can't yet
envision
and leave you much more open to the insights that will come your way.
Intuition
is blocked when we practice either/or thinking. Surprises and insights
will perhaps move you away from the original goal but can lead you to
something
much, much better.
We
all can dramatically simplify
our lives. Many clients come to me wanting to do something, in order to
have something, in order to be somebody. I say, be somebody first and
the
doing and having are natural outcomes. The more you discover the truth
about who you are, the more you'll get what you want.
