What do Wisdom and Wealth have in common? At first glance we can see that both of these words begin with the letter W and they both contain six letters. Interestingly, the only letter common to both is W. Actually, there is a very important relationship, not between the words themselves, but the phenomena they represent. In the Old testament it is recorded that King Solomon, when offered a choice between wealth and wisdom, chose wisdom, and was consequently granted extraordinary wealth as well. Riches without wisdom are soon lost. It is clear that the possession of riches is not necessarily proof of true wealth. The real measure of a man's wealth is in his attainment and application of wisdom in all areas of his life.

How do we obtain wisdom? We obtain wisdom in three ways: Firstly, wisdom can be a gift as was the case with King Solomon. Secondly, we can learn wisdom through study, and thirdly, we can attain wisdom from experience. The Godly man prays for the gift of Wisdom which is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. When we study the Laws of Nature we cannot help but find an abundant storehouse of wisdom. The sacred scriptures are supurb in this regard.  Next, we can study wisdom from the experiences of ordinary men and women who have left us a legacy of powerful principles and insights which we can include in our lives and derive great benefits from doing so. Then of course there are the living mentors by whose teaching and example, many ordinary people have become liberated from fear and defeat and have soared to live dreams which they previously deemed impossible, or at a conscious level, they were totally unaware of.
