Dixie Davey is a woman of many interests. Throughout her career, she has applied her broad knowledge to help several start-up companies in various industries, including co-founding a couple with her husband. In 2002, Dixie Davey acted as General Manager of At Source Organics, a compost research and development company founded by her husband, John Walker. He invented two compost machines called the VermiTainer and the TumbleTainer, and Dixie Davey assisted with office administration work and marketing. She then co-founded Becoming Younger in 2006. As a partner of the natural health supply website, she operated a successful eBay store and had several articles about the business published on the Internet. While on vacation in South America in 2008, Dixie Davey and her husband fell in love with Ecuador and relocated to the city of Cuenca later that year. While in Ecuador, Dixie Davey built a website called Retire-in-Ecuador.com, which promoted retirement opportunities and various property investments for vendors. She was also interviewed for a DVD documentary on life in Cuenca. During this time, she taught English to children in Ecuador as well. Outside of her business ventures, Dixie Davey pursues many hobbies. An avid photographer, she frequently captures the scenery of her travels. She has had one of her photographs, entitled “Honeymoon Piggies,” published in a special edition anthology called Best of 2009 Photography. Dixie Davey also enjoys writing and Internet research, movies and music, track and field sports, reading, home decorating, and growing exotic plants such as bonsai and orchids.
