Montana resident Don Bernard works, volunteers, and enjoys several outdoor activities in “The Treasure State.” Don Bernard is a former Guest Lecturer for the College of Business at Montana State University. He also sponsors leadership programs in the community, providing opportunities and inspiration to business, government, and education students to help prepare them for their careers. A Licensed Commercial Pilot, Donald Bernard has been a Certified Mountain Search Pilot for emergency services since 2008. A member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Don Bernard is a specialist in single- and multi-engine fixed-wing aircraft in addition to 41 other types of planes, including prop, turboprop, and jet engines. Outside of the office and the cockpit, Donald R. Bernard takes full advantage of the outdoors and enjoys rafting, fly-fishing, downhill and Nordic skiing, and scuba diving. Don Bernard worked as a lawyer for over 30 years. Having earned a Juris Doctor and Master of Laws from The University of Texas at Austin School of Law, Don Bernard performed roles as a Briefing Attorney for The Supreme Court of Texas and as the Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas before opening his own law firm. After 20 years as a Partner at Bernard & Bernard, Don Bernard operated his own private practice for 14 years before entering the education field.
