George Simchuk possesses comprehensive knowledge of the mining industry both in the field and at the corporate level. Most recently, Glamis Gold tapped George Simchuk to spearhead the organizational transformation of the company’s mine and plant in El Sauzal, Mexico. From 2005 to 2006, George Simchuk delivered outstanding results in his capacity as General Manager, collaborating with both management and operations personnel and performing effective community outreach. Prior to joining Glamis Gold, George Simchuk acted as Vice President and General Manager at Minera Cerro Quema in Panama, where he was sent to improve community outreach and operations management by Campbell Resources Inc. George Simchuk has also served as President and CEO of Pathfinder Mines Corporation and in high-level positions with Homestake Mining Company, Utah International, and the Anaconda Company in Chuquicamata, Chile. Over his accomplished career, George Simchuk has fostered employee morale and productivity in organizations without sacrificing a strict adherence to environmental controls. Alongside his career in mining, George Simchuk holds a pilot’s license and has spent time as a volunteer for organizations like the Flying Medical Service in Kenya and Tanzania. George Simchuk now flies for various environmental groups in Central America, providing flyovers of mangrove forests and regions on the Pacific and Atlantic coast.
