My name is Yvonne and I live in Levittown, Long Island, NY with my husband Howard (Howie). I am originally from Holland (The Netherlands). When I was 35 years old I packed 2 suitcases, sold everything that did not fit in and went to the Dominican Republic. With no place to live, no work and hardly any money I arrived. But I made it work!! I stayed there for almost 8 years. I came to the States in January 2004 to become a live-in nanny for a friend I met in the Dominican Republic where I was managing a scuba diving center in Sosua. I did a lot of different things while I was living in the DR, like selling time share, working in a bead factory as a secretary and office manager, managing a small hotel and managing a company that sold all kind of items through ads on TV (you know them, the exercise machines, the kitchen machine, the weight loss supplements, etc). My time in the DR was very interesting and definitely a learning experience. In my first year here I met my husband through a dating website… yes ladies... it does work. You just have to find the right one! We have been happily married since October 16, 2005. Marrying my husband made me the lucky step mom to 2 wonderful teenagers (Ari - 21 and Gilya - almost 19). They live with their mom, but we see them at least once a week. What do I do business wise? I do a lot every day. My hubby often asks me where I do get the energy from... maybe it is because I like what I do ;-) Last year I started my first home business. And from there it grew ;-) I live a happy life, following the Law of Attraction. I am grateful for all the little things in my life. Even though there are lots of things to wish for... but that will all fall into place in time!! I got introduced to Tea Tree Oil years and years ago, when I lived in the Dominican Republic. I was managing a small hotel and while removing some dead flowers in front of the reception, I got stung by some huge insect. In my cheek!!! It swelled up to triple the size in no time. And of course it hurt. A German lady came to my rescue with this strong smelling oil and started rubbing it on my cheek. While I was crying out that it hurt, she just kept pouring on more and rubbing my cheek. And voila! After about 20 minutes the swelling had gone down and the pain was a lot less. Of course my cheek was still sore, but it was incredible. I had been so scared, because I did not know what kind of an insect had stung me and in the DR all insects are sooo huge... real scary. I am also allergic to just about everything ('allergic to the world' my husband calls it). It was a logical step to join my friend Claudia Meydrech in the Wholefood Pharmacy.

You see, I keep myself busy. Apart from the above mentioned businesses, I work part-time in a child care center. I was never lucky enough to become a mom, but I like to surround myself with children... keeps me young! And it seems children also like to be around me. Their moms call me their private "Mary Poppins".
