My name is Yvonne and I live in Levittown, Long Island, NY with my husband Howard (Howie). I am originally from Holland (The Netherlands). When I was 35 years old I packed 2 suitcases, sold everything that did not fit in and went to the Dominican Republic. With no place to live, no work and $200 I arrived. But I made it work!! I stayed there for almost 8 years.

I came to the States in January 2004 to become a live-in nanny for a friend I met in the Dominican Republic when I was managing a scuba diving center in Sosua. I did a lot of different things while I was living in the DR. My time in the DR was very interesting and definitely a learning experience.

What do I do every day? A lot. My hubby often asks me where I do get the energy from... maybe it is because I like what I do ;-) I live a happy life, following the Law of Attraction. I am grateful for all the (little) things in my life. And I try to live as healthy and natural as possible.

I got introduced to Tea Tree Oil years and years ago, when I lived in the Dominican Republic. I was managing a small hotel and while removing some dead flowers in front of the reception, I got stung by some huge insect. In my cheek!!! It swelled up to triple the size in no time. And of course it hurt. A German lady came to my rescue with this strong smelling oil and started rubbing it on my cheek. While I was crying out that it hurt, she just kept dripping the oil on my face and rubbing my cheek.

And voila! After about 20 minutes the swelling had gone down and the pain was a lot less. Of course my cheek was still sore, but it was incredible. I had been so scared, because I did not know what kind of an insect had stung me and in the DR all insects are sooo huge... .

After I came to live on Long Island, NY I researched Essential Oils, Whole Foods, raw foods, etc. I learned a lot, asked questions, found answers and realized there is a huge difference between product A and product B.

After buying my first bottle of Lavender Oil, I started reading about Essential Oils and the next logical step was to become a consultant with Young Living Essential Oils. I am still learning, but Essential Oils are just fantastic.

In July of 2011 my dream came true. Ever since I was 16 years old I had a vision of having my own daycare center. It took lots of hard work, a forest of paperwork, a few inspections and lots of patience, but 'Learn and Play Levittown' is not in business.
