WHO IS JERRY E. SMITH?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_E._Smith

Jerry E. Smith has been a writer, editor and activist for over three decades. His bibliography of published works includes scores of non-fiction articles and reviews, more than a dozen ghost-written books, and two non-fiction books from Adventures Unlimited Press: "HAARP: The Ultimate Weapon of the Conspiracy" (1998) and "SECRETS OF THE HOLY LANCE: The Spear Of Destiny In History & Legend" (2005). The later was co-authored with George Piccard, author of "LIQUID CONSPIRACY: JFK, LSD, the CIA, Area 51, AND UFOs" (1999).

Jerry E. Smith is also a popular TV and radio talk show guest and lecturer, having made over 100 appearances. His knowledge is of nearly all things "conspiratorial," from Waco and Ruby Ridge to Oklahoma City and 9/11, from JFK and RFK to JFK, Jr. and Princess Diana, from CIA and LSD to FBI and Echelon. As the former Executive Director of the National UFO Museum he is keenly aware of UFO issues. Since the publication of HAARP: The Ultimate Weapon of the Conspiracy his focus has been on bad science and worse government.

He was a close friend and literary partner of the late Jim Keith (author of "Mind Control, World Control," and many others). Jim was Jerry’s best friend from high school till his untimely death in 1999. Among their many projects together, they ran Jim's magazine "Dharma Combat: The Magazine of Spirituality, Reality and Other Conspiracies;" the regional newspaper "Skyline: Klamath Falls;" and co-hosted a radio show broadcasting from the campus of the Oregon Institute of Technology. Jerry helped on several of Jim’s books, particularly "Black Helicopters Over America: Strikeforce for the New World Order" and “Secret And Suppressed: Banned Ideas & Hidden History.”

Jerry has just finished work on a new book for Adventures Unlimited Press: "WEATHER WARFARE: The Military’s Plan to Draft Mother Nature." It should appear in bookstores in early november 2006. Here is a blurb for the book:

WEATHER WARFARE: The Military's Plan to Draft Mother Nature

United States Secretary of Defense William Cohen said, back in April of 1997, that there were terrorists who “… are engaging even in an eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves…“ Have the earth and sky been turned into weapons? "WEATHER WARFARE: The Military's Plan to Draft Mother Nature," by Jerry E. Smith, lays bare the grim facts of the pursuit of these technologies by terrorists, military strategists and “mad scientists.” Picking up where his 1998 book about the High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) left off Smith up-dates us on recent developments at HAARP, including its possible connection to the crash of the Space Shuttle Columbia and what role, if any, it played in recent “natural” disasters, like Hurricane Katrina. Tackling the chemtrail controversy Smith examines claims that chemicals are being deliberately injected into our atmosphere. Edward Teller, father of the hydrogen bomb, proposed putting up a “sunscreen” to save the earth from global warming — is someone actually doing it?

THE SPEAR OF DESTINY
http://www.SecretsOfTheHolyLance.com

"Smith and Piccard explore unexpectedly vast territory in Secrets of the Holy Lance."
~ Nexus: New Times Magazine, Vol 13, No 1, January - February 2006

According to the Gospel of John in the New Testament, as Jesus Christ hung on the Cross a Roman centurion pierced His side with a spear. A legend has arisen that "whosoever possesses this Holy Lance and understands the powers it serves, holds in his hand the destiny of the world for good or evil."

Also called the Spear of Destiny, this strange relic has been written about for nearly two thousand years. Trevor Ravenscroft captured the world’s attention with his 1982 opus The Spear of Destiny. Later that decade Col. Howard Buechner released two books that became underground classics, Hitler’s Ashes and Adolf Hitler and the Secrets of the Holy Lance. These picked up where Ravenscroft left off, with the Spear leaving Europe to hide for a while beneath the ice of Antarctica. Since then the Spear of Destiny has appeared in scholarly tomes, novels, and even comic books: including Indiana Jones And The Spear Of Destiny, Hellboy, and Hellblazer, which gave us this year’s box office hit Constantine. SECRETS OF THE HOLY LANCE: The Spear Of Destiny In History "& Legend" by Jerry E. Smith and George Piccard, weaves together the many threads of the Spear’s legend like no book before it has.

"SECRETS OF THE HOLY LANCE" places this legend against the backdrop of world history: from its mythical creation by Tubal-Cain, seventh generation grandson of Adam, to its appearance at the Crucifixion; its use by Constantine, Rome's first Christian Caesar; to Charlemagne's claim that with it he ruled the Holy Roman Empire by Divine Right; and on through twelve hundred years of kings and emperors, until it came within Adolf Hitler's grasp -- and beyond! Did it really rest for a while in Antarctic ice? Is it now hidden in Europe, awaiting the next person to claim its power to shape the destiny of mankind? Or is it just an old spearhead, with no powers of its own?

"SECRETS OF THE HOLY LANCE" seeks to pierce the veil of myth and mystery around the Spear. Mere belief that it was infused with magic by virtue of its shedding the Savior's Blood has made men kings. But what if it's more? What are those "powers it serves"?

Topics include: The Christ Mind; The Holy Grail; The Templar Knights, Nazi Occultism: Blood Lodges & Secret Orders; Agharta, Shambhala & Atlantis; Nazi UFOs; Operation Paperclip; Testing The Spear; Operation Highjump, Station 211 & The Battle For Neuschwabenland; The Hartmann Expedition; The Rise Of The Fourth Reich; The Secret Of The Spear; Where Is The Spear Now?

Book Review: Secrets of the Holy Lance
By Don Harkins of The Idaho Observer

Who was the man who thrust the spear into Jesus as he hung from the cross? Why did he do it and whatever became of him? Where is that spear, long since referred to as “The Holy Lance” or “The Spear of Destiny?”

For those of us who question everything, books uncovering those details of history omitted in commonly-cited sources are better than good fiction: We love to find evidence that thickens the plots of the past because it makes fast-forwarding to the present so much more interesting—and our conversations so much richer.

Jerry E. Smith, author of, “HAARP: The Ultimate Weapon of the Conspiracy,” has teamed up with George Piccard, author of “Liquid Conspiracy: JFK, LSD, the CIA, Area 51 and UFOs,” to bring a lot of relatively unknown facets of the Crucifixion out for consideration. Then they take us on a journey through history following the path of the Holy Lance. The passages recreating the Crucifixion alone, where the story of The Holy Lance begins, brings new frontiers of discussion to the most celebrated event in human history.

But the story continues—with lesser and greater known kings and queens who came into the possession of The Holy Lance. Though I, personally, haven’t the historical authority to qualify the accuracy of the authors’ interpretation of history, it seems like theirs is the type of concise overview written by those who have command of the subject matter. Regardless, it is so much fun to rethink what we know about history with the spice of a new rogue element—kind of like putting the glasses on in the 1989 cult movie classic “They Live.”

Charlemagne and Hitler both possessed The Holy Lance and this book makes both more interesting for the role this holy relic played in their lives. The authors spend quite a bit of time exploring the formative years of Hitler’s life to give us a completely different perspective on how he took power and why he wielded it in the way he did.

I treasure The Secrets of the Holy Lance like I treasure all the things that have come my way proving, individually and in the aggregate, that the laws of natural science do not explain everything. There are so many stories down through the ages describing the magical power of certain objects and the supernatural abilities of certain individuals we cannot logically dismiss them all as tall tales—The Holy Lance now included.

I read all day long—you can imagine what I read to be part of the team publishing The IO. The way I have been reading Secrets of the Holy Lance is several pages at a time before falling asleep late at night. It says a lot, in my life anyway, that this book is, while it lasts, my favorite bed time reading.

There are a few scattered typos and misspellings, but this is a truly marvelous read that does exactly what all us dissident types love the most: Having a new way to see and discuss our world.

Secrets of the Holy Lance:
The Spear of Destiny in History & Legend
by
Jerry E. Smith and George Piccard
Reviewed by Jaye Beldo

It is an axiom of magic that anyone attempting a major power grab can tip the odds in their favor if they possess some resonantly archetypal object upon which to concentrate their intent. If enough dread and fascination can be evoked in the enemy through an amulet or talisman, victory, whether in the boardroom, battlefield or campaign trail, becomes inevitable. The lance that was used to pierce Christ as he hung on the cross is one such coveted item. Jesus' blood, which flowed from the wound just below his heart, somehow supercharged the weapon that the Roman centurion Longinus used to pierce him, infusing it with a dreadful, plasmatic numinosity. Afterwards, this reliquary capacitor was employed by the likes of Constantine, Charlemagne, Barbarossa and even Attila the Hun in their quests for supremacy and control.

The spear's obvious potency and the consequences of its possession by some of history's heaviest of hitters are engagingly described in Secrets of the Holy Lance: The Spear of Destiny in History and Legend. The authors Jerry E. Smith and George Piccard push the possibility that it indeed has influenced everything from religious conversion, victory in war and even quantum physics which they use to parallel some of the spear's supernatural dynamics. Considering the world wrecking deeds done by the spear's last official beholder, Adolph Hitler, it may very well radiate some kind supernatural nimbus that entranced him and many others into committing unspeakable acts.

Secrets of the Holy Lance sports a nice balance between historical exposition and speculation as to what the talisman really entails. In the opening chapter, an eerie travelogue with great cinematic potential, describes the Hartmann expedition to ‘Station 211’ in Antarctica, the secret Nazi underground base which housed many Third Reich treasures and possibly the lance itself. In a later chapter, we are taken into the realms of pre-history where the authors posit that the spear was originally forged by the blacksmith Tubal-Cain, making intriguing, primordial connections with some of the ‘memory‘ metals that the military has recently developed, metals that are capable of snapping back to their original forms no matter how they are manipulated (and are possibly used in the construction of UFOs). Then we are taken right into the nightmare crux of World War II and the possession of the lance by the SS who then used it to evoke Ahrimanic powers in attempt to realize the Thousand Year Reich. Perhaps the lance was used to open up demonic vortexes that even the Nazis couldn't control, hence their downfall. The authors observe: "Is it but a cruel irony that this relic of the Passion became the scepter of conquerors? We are left to ask how and why the instrument of St. Longinus' compassion became the obsession of men who were devoid of humanity? What cursed object is this Spear?"

While the Heilige Lanze supposedly rests in the Hoffburg Palace in Vienna at present, the authors remind us of the very likely possibility that a mere replica of the spear is currently ogled by thousands of unaware tourists, while the real thing perhaps rests in the sweaty, palpitating hands of a once and future tyrant. Could it be George W. Bush that is currently brandishing the lance? Would he even know what to do with such a potentially malefic amulet? Submitting to its overwhelming power, he would probably get on his hands and knees, begging Jeff Gannon to wear it as a Strap-On during one of their ultra private press conferences. Or perhaps Karl Rove is being instructed on how to point it at the 2012 Stargate about to open up, in attempt to sabotage its universally transformative potentials. Regardless of who or what now has possession of Longinus’s spear, Secrets of the Holy Lance is sure to fire up your apocalyptic imagination sufficiently enough to illuminate your own paths into futures unknown.

WHAT IS HAARP?
http://www.haarp.alaska.edu/

Jerry E. Smith writes:

The High frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) is the largest and most powerful Department of Defense (DoD) facility of its kind in the world -- just what kind of facility it is, however, is the subject of heated debate.

The government says it is a pure science research station, one intended to increase our understanding of the upper atmosphere. Detractors are not convinced.

Some researchers think HAARP is a prototype for a "Star Wars" weapons system. It may be an over-the-horizon type radar ... or it may exist to destroy incoming ICBMs … or perhaps to fry out the electronics of enemy spy satellites … or it might be used to disrupt enemy radio communications. Researchers think it might be intended to do these things because those abilities are all described in the original patents that the HAARP antenna array is based on. The folks running HAARP deny any connection between HAARP and those patents, however. This, naturally, has opened them up to charges of cover-up and conspiracy. It’s not the only thing they seem to be lying about, either.

Once one gets the idea that the government (or civilian scientists working under government contract) is lying about something, the sky is pretty much the limit in speculations about what it is they are lying about. And with HAARP the sky is just the beginning!

Many researchers have looked into what HAARP is really intended for – and some have come up with some very strange sounding things! Some think it will be used to control the weather … others say it could be used to set off volcanoes, or trigger earthquakes. Still others see its potential for “Wining the Hearts and Minds” of our enemies by beaming emotions or commands directly into their brains. And some few even speculate that it will be used by the New World Order to take over the world by projecting holographic images into the sky while beaming thoughts directly into our heads, telling us to accept the new "god" of their design. And still others think it is part of a planetary defense system to protect us from invading aliens from outer space. And there are even wilder ideas about what “they” want to do with HAARP!

I began writing my 1998 book HAARP: The Ultimate Weapon of the Conspiracy with the intent to sort out truth from fiction in the many claims about what HAARP could or couldn’t do. I quickly learned that HAARP was but the tip of a very nasty iceberg.

I soon learned more about the down side of electromagnetic (radio frequency) technologies than I ever wanted to know. And that things are far worse in the Military-Industrial-Educational Complex than even I, as a “peacenik” from the ‘60s, imagined. My book became an examination of two major questions: what is the fundamental flaw in how we fund and conduct science, and how can a democracy defend itself from its own military and covert intelligence agencies?

REVIEWS

"Most people were introduced to the High-frequency Active Auroral Research Project (HAARP) in 1995 when Dr. Nick Begich and Jeane Manning exposed [it] in the book Angels Don't Play This HAARP.

"HAARP: The Ultimate Weapon of the Conspiracy by Jerry Smith takes HAARP a few steps farther than Begich and Manning. Dr. Begich is a scientist who painstakingly described the science of HAARP and the many potential applications of its technology -- good and evil. Smith, on the other hand, has been a dedicated student of our complex and often unjust world. Smith restates the science of HAARP to lay a solid foundation of the subject matter while articulating his lucid world view to explain why it is inevitable that HAARP's powerful weapons will be used against people. HAARP: The Ultimate Weapon of the Conspiracy advances the thesis that, at a moment of 'their' choosing, HAARP will be capable of causing mischief on a scale we would only expect from God.

"If you found Angels Don't Play This HAARP fascinating, then HAARP: The Ultimate Weapon of the Conspiracy will be the next logical step in understanding what HAARP means to those upon whom it will be used and those who desire to have access to such powerful weapons."

-- Don Harkins, The Idaho Observer

“Jerry E. Smith presents us first with the facts and details of the HAARP installation in Alaska. He tells us fairly what the government says is its intended purpose. He painstakingly explains the technology of the project and what the capabilities are, and this is indeed where the book starts getting scarier than Stephen King. At least, we can dismiss Mr. King's works as fiction. Not so with this book.

“Mr. Smith's style is often conversational, and yet always authoritative. He keeps the reader interested throughout the book, and gives hooks at each chapter's end telling us what's coming up ahead. He's easy with the science, thank goodness, since I was no star in high school or college science. He does refresh our memories of what scientific knowledge is necessary for understanding HAARP and it's potential uses and effects. Even if HAARP is an innocent little scientific research toy that our tax dollars are making possible, it can inadvertently do our environment irreparable harm. And if anybody decides to take advantage of the capabilities that Mr. Smith proves it has, it can affect our weather, wipe out the user's enemies (real or fancied), and--according to the technological evidence presented, affect our thinking, our perceptions, our minds.

“Once establishing the dangerous potential of HAARP, Mr. Smith examines possible conspiracies. We're quite aware of the New World Order. Some feel this projected world government would better the world, end war, enable us to solve Earth's problems. Others fear the emergence of leaders and controllers who are more concerned with wielding power than with the public good. Such a group would naturally have access to HAARP and it's capabilities. Many Christians are convinced that a benevolent appearing but actually malevolent ‘Anti-Christ’ who has extraordinary powers and will inspire worship from the masses will be in control of the New World Order. HAARP has the potential of giving such a leader these powers. Many of us feel such a leader or group of leaders would be inevitable in any New World Order whether or not one gives any credit to Biblical prophecy. And the author emphasizes what any conspiracy type group could use HAARP for. There are many other conspiracy theories detailed here, some being wildly speculative. However, Mr. Smith explains that in this section of the book, he is merely pointing out possibilities that many see as threats regardless of his personal opinion.

“Finally, we're inspired to action. Smith tells us just what each of us can do as individuals. Each of us has a sphere of influence in which we can influence others, and each person one of us influences will in turn influence others, so each individual can make a difference. The writer shows ways to do this.

-- Neal Clark Reynolds, Amazon.com Top 500 Reviewer

"In this comprehensive treatment, Smith analyzes HAARP's background in terms of Tesla technology, the Bernard Eastlund patent for altering the Earth's atmospheric, ionospheric and/or magnetospheric regions, and electromagnetic warfare between the ex-USSR and the USA. [Is HAARP] just a Big Science project or a Big Military project that is part of a New World Order conspiracy? According to author Jerry Smith in this latest book on HAARP, the latter is the case, and he devotes much space to examining why. Smith urges that we need to encourage debate and lobby governments and agencies -- whether we want to stop the project or at least insist that appropriate safety controls are put in place."

-- Ruth Parnell, Nexus Magazine

"Jerry Smith's "HAARP: The Ultimate Weapon of the Conspiracy," is based on researches which follow on from where his friend and colleague Jim Keith left off, after his untimely and suspicious death. This comprehensive and erudite book avoids lengthy technical digressions, but presents all the pertinent facts clearly and bluntly before us. Clearly, the world's techno-elites have been creating a formidable arsenal of super-weapons that will forever change the world and the fate of humankind. Jerry Smith's "HAARP" bravely names the names, and reveals the crimes and the criminals. An indispensable work for seasoned researchers or for those who come to these subjects for the first time. Arm yourself with knowledge, and find out what Big Brother has been up to at your expense. Find out who is doing what to whom, and what you can do about it."

-- Michael Tsarion, author of Atlantis, Alien Visitation and Genetic Manipulation

"Jerry E. Smith provides the first full-blown conspiracy analysis of the HAARP project since Nick Begich first brought the subject up... The book provides a wealth of hard data, with graphics and photos, to help readers understand the reality of the facility but complements that with well-documented speculation about even the strangest possibilities. ...HAARP: The Ultimate Weapon of the Conspiracy offers quite a tour de force, but readers need not follow the conspiratorializing to appreciate the science presented as well as the basic facts about HAARP."

-- Kenn Thomas, Steamshovel Press

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

To Whom It May Concern:

I am the producer of an annual conference dedicated to exposing real conspiracies and real hidden agendas. Recently, I had the opportunity and privilege to work with Jerry E. Smith. Jerry spoke at my 2003 conference with eloquence and poise on H.A.A.R.P., which is both the subject of his well-researched book and the concern of many citizens and environmental activists.

Furthermore, Jerry availed himself to me at a moment’s call since one of my confirmed speakers canceled at the last minute due to illness and I am very grateful to him. I was aware of Jerry’s research and I knew that I would invite him sometime in the future. So, I was quite pleased to see my audience garner valuable information from his presentation much earlier than I had planned.

One of the great benefits of organizing a fascinating event such as mine is getting to personally know the speakers and presenters. It was to my utter pleasure and delight to discover that Jerry not only possesses vast knowledge on his immediate subject, as well as others, but that he boasts a terrific sense of humor with a large battery of very funny anecdotes, as well as an uncanny ability to improvise in a witty manner.

With these distinguished qualities, I would personally be honored and pleased to work with Jerry again in the future, which is what I truly hope to do. I would, therefore, encourage anyone in the media or event organization to include Jerry E. Smith in any endeavor that would benefit from his experience, professionalism and wit.

Anyone wishing to reach me as a reference for Jerry may use my contact information below.

Most sincerely,

Jerry,

Thank you for making such a distant and elusive subject so well understood by me and my audience. HAARP is one of those projects that needs far more attention than it's getting. The more the American people understand about what is being done in their name and with their money, the better. Let me know of any new information please.

Thanks for a great show,

Looking forward to your next appearance on MBW. You've become my favorite interview. That's saying a lot, as I just finished pre-recording a program for the May 13th show. The guest was Eric Burns, host of Fox News Watch on the Fox News Channels. His book: “Infamous Scribblers.” He'll be coming back again and again, as a lot of authors do because I like what they say and what they write. I get a great many top flight authors, and you are at the forefront. Can't wait for your new book to come out. Keep it up! If more voices would dare to rattle cages, maybe this double experiment--Planet Earth, and the American Experience--just might survive.

Jerry,

I want to thank you for being on my Syndicated radio program on over 70 Business Talk Radio Network stations. You're one of the most intriguing guests I've had the privilege of interviewing. Your knowledge of the REAL stories, that most people ignore, constantly amazes me and my listeners. Not only do you present the verifiable facts, but you clearly draw the line between reality and speculation.

Jerry Smith, author of HAARP, The Ultimate Weapon Of The Conspiracy was a great guest on my international webcast. Jerry takes a subject that is very involved, often derided, and puts it into simple, believable terms for anyone to understand. Jerry is a wonderfully gifted author, and a very clear and concise speaker.

It was a pleasure speaking with him, and his penchant for not straying off topic, or wandering into conspirational waters is a gift few authors share. I'd recommend him highly.

Sincerely,

BIOGRAPHY OF JERRY E. SMITH

OVERVIEW

With three mass market non-fiction books under his belt and successful speaking engagements from Brisbane to Brazil to The Bahamas, Jerry E. Smith is an “overnight sensation” that has been more than three decades in the making. His career as a writer, researcher, activist, editor and lecturer began with the first professional sale of his writing back in 1969.

In 1991 Mr. Smith and Jim Keith, author of Black Helicopters Over America: Strikeforce for the New World Order and numerous other conspiracy and mind control books, founded the National UFO Museum (NUFOM) in Reno, Nevada. From 1991 to 1994 Mr. Smith was the Executive Director of NUFOM, while Mr. Keith acted as the Chairman of the Board. In addition to his administrative duties of running the day-to-day operations of NUFOM, Mr. Smith also edited and wrote for that organization's quarterly journal, Notes from the Hangar.

At the same time Mr. Smith worked as an editor/graphic artist with Jim Keith's magazine Dharma Combat: The Magazine of Spirituality, Reality and Other Conspiracies, until Jim's untimely death in 1999. Jerry served variously as Managing Editor and Art Director from Dharma Combat's inception in 1988. He was also a regular contributer under the penname of jarod o'danu.

Mr. Smith's life-long political and environmental activism and research has resulted in the publication of scores of news stories, opinion pieces and book and movie reviews for local and regional magazines and newspapers throughout the western states. Mr. Smith's work has also appeared in such national publications as Fate Magazine and Paranoia: The Conspiracy Reader.

DETAILS

Jerry E. Smith’s interest in technology and its impact on society began early. At the impressionable age of eight he read Robert A. Heinlein’s Have Spacesuit, Will Travel, in which the teenaged hero is brought into an intergalactic court and forced to defend why humanity should not be terminated. That introduction to science- or speculative-fiction, which forced the reader to think, was overpowering. By age twelve he had read every sci-fi book in the local library; by the time he passed out of his teens he had read over 10,000 sci-fi and fantasy novels. What’s more he had become fascinated with ancient history and had read many of the surviving plays and epics of ancient Greece, Rome and Norse mythology. In school he excelled in the soft sciences (social studies and history). He had also begun what became a life-long study of the world’s great religions and philosophies.

Outside of school be became an activist, involved initially in the Civil Rights, and then the Anti-War movements. In 1967-68 he campaigned for Dick Gregory’s write-in bid for the Presidency. Throughout the late 1960s and early '70s he attended anti-war rallies and worked for liberal candidates. As an idealistic youth, not realizing where the liberal agenda was really coming from, he even joined pro-one-world-government organizations like The World Federalist Association and The Gradualist Way to World Peace.

As the Vietnam War wound down he turned his activism to the Environmental Movement. He joined the Sierra Club and became a founding member of The Cousteau Society. In the 1990s he would discover that globalist control freaks (like Maurice Strong, head of the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, who said: "Isn't the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn't it our responsibility to bring about?") had penetrated the environmental movement. After the fall of the Soviet Union, Jerry says, International Communism traded in its worn out red flag, wrapping itself in a new environmentalist green one.

“For proof of this,” Jerry wrote, “one hardly needs look further than the Green Cross International. Its purpose is to pick up where the Rio Earth Summit left off. It was founded in 1993 by Mikhail Gorbachev, a ‘hard line’ Communist and the last Supreme Dictator of the Soviet Union. ‘Gorbie,’ so beloved by the dominant, globalist owned media, said in an address to the United Nations, in December 1988: ‘Further global progress is now possible only through a quest for universal consensus in the movement towards a New World Order.’ What is Gorbie’s New World Order? The Green Cross says its mission is ‘to help create a sustainable future by cultivating harmonious relationships between humans and the environment. Green Cross concentrates its efforts on programs whose common theme is to promote a significant change in human values leading to greater respect and care for Earth's community of life in all its diversity, and to address the environmental causes and consequences of wars and conflict.” Are you ready to have green-for-red commies change your values? I’m not.” With that, he left the environmental movement.

Jerry’s work in writing and publishing began in amateur “little literary” magazines (these days called "zines") in 1966. Jerry met Jim Keith in high school. Jim was already active in science fiction “fandom,” a nearly century old “counter-culture” of clubs, conventions and amateur publishing. Jim introduced Jerry to fandom. After publishing his first science fiction fan magazine Jerry was hooked, and his declining grades in high school proved his "addiction." He soon became active (perhaps even "hyperactive") in the zine scene. He appeared regularly in APAs (Amateur Press Alliances); like the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society's weekly APA, APA-L, and the Valley Science Fiction Association's biweekly, ValAPA. He also published several critically acclaimed general distribution fanzines (called "genzines"), such as untitled with (unindicted co-conspirator) Jim Keith. He founded the fantasy fiction oriented club, The Unicorn Society, and its Unicorn Amateur Press Alliance (UnAPA) in Klamath Falls, Oregon, in 1974.

In middle school and high school he was also an art student, eagerly studying drafting and architecture, and fine and commercial art. Before deciding on a career as a writer he had planned to be, first, an architect, then, a painter. But eventually his love for the written word won out. Jerry briefly considered going to college. By the time he was ready to seriously consider it he had already sold his first novel (long out of print) and, as a regular attendee of science fiction clubs and conventions was on a first name basis with about 40 professional authors and about a dozen editors. In 1971, around his 21st birthday, he took a survey of those publishing professionals, asking each of them if they had gone to college, and why. He was amazed to learn that only one of the authors, Larry Niven, had gone to college, but all of the editors had – and all of them had gone to learn to write! Jerry concluded that college must fill one up with the rules, stifling creativity. As one who wanted to be a professional science fiction author, college sounded like the last place on earth he should go! So, he has no academic credits, no initials after his name – just a lifetime of continuous research, reflection, observation and study.

Jerry moved from Southern California to Klamath Falls, Oregon, in 1972. There he explored a variety of arts beyond painting and publishing. He got into amateur theater, performing both in front of and behind the curtain in plays presented by the Klamath Civic Theater and Klamath Children's Theater (co-authoring the Children's Theater production he co-starred in). He also worked in an air-brushed-art on T-shirts shop, designing the art that he painted on shirts. For a short while he and Jim Keith co-hosted a weekly current affairs radio show on KTEC, broadcasting from the campus of the Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT). In 1973 he worked as the Art Director of the shopper-style newspaper The Linkville Star. In 1979 he wore that same hat at Skyline: Klamath Falls, where in addition to doing the make-up on each issue, he also did investigative reporting and ad sales.

During the period 1976-79 he saw more than thirty of his poems see print in the United States and Canada. Nearly all of his poems were published under the pen name of jarod o'danu. He has attended, and read at, more than 200 poetry readings. It was during this same period that he was introduced to Conspiracy Theory via Gary Allen’s None Dare Call It Conspiracy. He soon learned, such as through the private writings of Arnold Toynbee (1889-1975) the preeminent British historian, that the Accidental Model of history was a bought and paid for hoax, needed to hide the fact that history does not just “happen” but is made, that all political events are the result of intent, and are usually engineered by a cadre of the elite.

In the '90s (after wasting a decade of his life in Scientology – a long story!) he got serious about his writing career. While continuing to write poetry, he began to sell humor, film reviews and non-fiction on a variety of topics from AIDS to UFOs. He was a regular contributor to the Reno-Sparks area newspaper The View with topical articles, reviews and the science fiction "soap opera" in print, Fool's Gold, which he co-authored with Jim Keith.

He also branched out into writing for private parties, largely as a ghostwriter. He wrote all or part of over 40 novels, all of which appeared under someone else's name or a pen name. One such work was a 20,000-word history of a complex of mansions south of Reno called Rancharrah. The estate was founded in the late 1930s by Norman Henry Biltz, who was dubbed the "Duke of Nevada" by Fortune Magazine in 1954. Biltz sold out to William F. Harrah, the casino magnate, in 1956. His son, John Harrah, who lives there now, commissioned the history in 1996. John Harrah's intent was to produce a booklet he could give as a handout to his guests. You will find an up-dated version of this text in the articles archive on Jerry's website at http://www.jerryesmith.com/articles/index.php?inc=rancharrah. Jerry’s first national magazine exposure under his own name was the article Star Trek: Sci-fi or Psy-war? in the Fall 1996 issue of Paranoia Magazine and reprinted in book form in The Conspiracy Reader: The Best of Paranoia Magazine, edited by Al Hidell and Joan d'Arc, Citadel Press/Kensington Publishing.

It was in 1991, or so, that Jerry read Timothy Good’s "Above Top Secret" and realized that one could not study UFOs to any depth without hitting Conspiracy Theory. UFOlogy is filled with evidence of government lies and cover-ups. At the same time he read a limited circulation underground book on Hitler’s disk-shaped aircraft. One of Jerry’s friends was intrigued with the possibility of building such a craft. Jerry’s attempt to find evidence, and technical specifications, for these craft led to the discovery that, at that time, there did not exist a museum of UFOs anywhere in the world – and he and Jim Keith decided to create one. For almost three years Jerry sank all the money he earned into trying to get the National UFO Museum (NUFOM) off the ground. The project was finally abandoned after Jim and Jerry learned that mainstream UFOlogy, in particular the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), did not take kindly to these strangers invading their turf and had started a whisper campaign against them.

In 1996, a few years after closing the doors on NUFOM, Jerry’s career really took off with the contracts to write "A History of Rancharrah" for John Harrah and "HAARP: The Ultimate Weapon of the Conspiracy" for Ron Bonds at Illuminet Press. Ron had contacted Jim Keith asking Jim to write a book for Illuminet on HAARP, telling him that HAARP was the hottest subject on the Internet at the time. Jim declined, on the grounds that he was backlogged on four book contracts – but Jim put Ron in contact with his friend, Jerry E. Smith. Ron gave Jerry the go-head on the project in February 1996. It took until September to complete the first draft. Ron hated the draft and cancelled the project. Jerry sat on the manuscript for a year before remembering David Hatcher Childress at Adventures Unlimited Press (AUP). AUP had helped NUFOM, providing it with a number of UFO and other “off trail” books. David, it turned out, was looking for a book on HAARP and snapped it up.

Since the publication of "HAARP: The Ultimate Weapon of the Conspiracy" by AUP in 1998 Jerry has had an exhausting schedule, appearing regularly on TV and radio, as well as speaking at seminars and conferences. Indeed, his biggest complaint is that he’s been too busy campaigning to bring awareness of the potential evils of HAARP and The New World Order to audiences to get any major writing projects done!
