hi folks, like so many others, i decided to go back to school when the internet economy showed no signs of getting better in the early 00s. i recently completed my MBA at the australian graduate school of entrepreneurship at swinburne university of technology (in melbourne australia). as part of the mba, i completed research on how virtual teams deal with tension and differences (ie that dreaded word, CONFLICT). i'm putting together a website about my research and will post it here but email me if you're interested. am more than happy to share my results. having worked in virtual teams for years, i'm very interested in the practical application of the results - so the results aren't all academic fluff!! :) i'm a founding member of e-mint, a professional organization for folks involved with or interested in online communities. we're based in London (where i used to live) but have members across the world. membership is a mix of community managers, academics, vendors, consultants and more. i'm thinking of starting this in the US and AU (depending on where i end up) if there's interest. prior to the unemployment, i was working in the net industry doing project management & product development for a variety of websites. I worked on a broad range of projects and the products were frequently content or community focused. as i've finished the mba, i'm looking for full-time employment. in addition to product development and project management, i'm interested in the org development/behaviour and marketing areas. my interests are wide ranging so i'm not ruling anything out. resume upon request. other misc stuff about me... young's bitter is my fav beer (although special, triple A, acclaim or fuller's london pride will do). i haven't had much luck finding a good aussie beer that measures up to british bitter... any british expats out there who can point me to the right pub??? the best i've found is james squire. i also like a good red wine, vodka, watching the tennis, the beach, a wide range of music, crocheting and caffeine. i run a website and mailing list for fans of the author, richard brautigan.
dali is my fav artist and i love this quote...
