Hello friends, I'm here, primarily for professional networking. Besides acquiring lots and lots of truly 'good' friends all around, I am also here to satisfy my two major passions, viz. For strategic reasons, I prefer to remain an Independent Marketing Support Consultant on retainership arrangement with brands/ companies starting from 1 day to .... days. My schooling (ICSE and ISC) was from St.Patrick's HS School, Asansol. On completion of my MBA in mid 1985, I started my career with Castrol India Ltd and spent a very satisfying 6.5 yrs with them. Another 9 months were spent at Singer India Ltd before taking the present plunge. In December 1992, I branched off into my own rendering Marketing Support Services to corporate entities of repute across India. School and College going Children and Youth throughout India are a major target audience for most of my projects. I help brands to target youngsters on the " 4C " plank (C as in Communication, Comprehension, Creativity, Cognition). Schools and reputed Indian & MNC Brands love me for my creativity, finesse and integrity. They have not hesitated in putting the same on print. The National Sales Manager of an MNC recently told me that during a meeting at the Corporate HQ in Mumbai, it was discussed and agreed upon that in India there are some Marketing Support Consultants who just 'work with their hands' and there are quite a few who use their 'brains and hands'. However, there's possibly only one (and that is me) who applies his 'brains, hands and HEART'. In a public forum as this, I can only say "Thank a ton Mr.ID for the wonderful remark". The only one of its kind in India, Intra & Inter School Powerpoint Presentation Contest across the country (popularly known as POWERPLAY) and an All India Inter College & Senior School Ppt Contest (popularly termed as IT KRIYA) - both conceptualized and implemented by me every year since 2002-2003 and 2007-2008 respectively, have earned me lots of fame and goodwill. The uniqueness of the projects can be gauged by hitting a search on Google by typing "School Powerpoint Presentation Contest" or some similar combination of words. See the results for yourself and revert to me. Training young Business School students (as a Visiting Faculty) in specific areas of Sales/ Marketing/ Soft Skills is something I freak out on. The 'Marketing Lessons' section of my own website www.marketingpundit.com is already a big hit with these youngsters. I always had the creative urge in me. I tutored myself on Adobe Photoshop in 2003 and started designing truly 'haatke' Posters and Certificates for the brands associated with me. This started bringing me even closer to the brands whom I roped in for the 'brand positioning' or 'repositioning' exercises. And like me, Bongs of all hues love travelling. But when it comes to being a roadie, they need to pop in tons of paracetamol tablets at the very thought of travelling long distances by road. Bongs or no bongs, I am in loss for words to convince the non-roadies, the convenience factor associated in travelling by road. And how do I assure them that its cheaper than AC 2-Tier travel by the Indian Railways. Between 13th and 24th March 2008 (12 days flat) I singlehandedly drove 4520 kms in my Maruti Esteem VXi .... Kolkata - Gopalpur on Sea - Vijaywada - Chennai - Mamallapuram - Pondicherry - Suryalanka Beach 55kms from Guntur - Vizag - Araku Valley - Bheemunipatnam - Barkul on Chilka Lake - Kolkata. Moreover, I also make it a point to make a round trip of Kolkata - Bhubaneswar - Puri - Kolkata (1300 kms) every year.
