During his professional career in the healthcare industry, Michael Mihora has organized several significant financial turnarounds and improved patient care for numerous hospitals and medical centers. Michael Mihora started in the financial and reimbursement departments before transitioning to administrative and executive roles soon after. Presently the Assistant Administrator and Medical Group Practice Administrator for a hospital and health center within the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, Michael Mihora possesses more than 26 years in medical care management. After his first post as Cost Accountant at Flint Osteopathic Hospital, Michael Mihora conducted finance duties and headed the billing department at Lapeer Regional Hospital. As Director of Operations at Dickinson County Hospitals, Michael Mihora was part of the executive team that generated the facilities’ net income of $2.5 million, the most profitable year in their history. At United Memorial Hospital, where he acted as Chief Executive Officer under management contract, Michael Mihora focused on growth efforts, including the realization of a 20 percent volume growth three years in a row. Michael Mihora’s work was recognized by the HCIA; United Memorial Hospital earned a spot on its Top 100 Hospitals list. In 1996, Michael Mihora repeated his professional success with his Chief Executive Officer role at Herrick Memorial Hospital. Michael Mihora continued to lead hospital business operations throughout a merger that changed Herrick Memorial Hospital and Lenawee Health Alliance to ProMedica Health System. His last position in Michigan was with Cheboygan Memorial Hospital, where Michael Mihora led building and expansion projects, including a 43,000 square foot medical office building, and augmented services by hiring 18 new full-time physicians. During Michael Mihora’s tenure, the hospital achieved its most successful year financially and won several awards for patient care and customer service. Moving to Hawaii, Michael Mihora took on Chief Executive Officer duties with Bay Clinic, Inc. before his current accomplishments at Alii Health Center and Kona Community Hospital. In just two years, Michael Mihora has created Alii Health Center’s non-profit corporation status. As Assistant Administrator and Medical Group Practice Administrator, Michael Mihora increased operations to include 33 employees, 11 physicians, and an operating budget of $5.5 million. Michael Mihora has also recently been involved in planning the construction of an Ambulatory Surgery Center to serve the residents of West Hawaii. Apart from his work with Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, Michael Mihora affiliates with professional organizations, including the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the Medial Group Management Association, and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
