My Family
|
|
I've been married to my husband Serge for 23 years and we have two children; Claire 21 and Marc 19.
Serge also has 28 year old twin sons from his previous marriage, Adrian and Roger, and a 4 year old
grandson named Owen. Both boys are profoundly deaf and communicate in American Sign
Language.
Serge is French Canadian and grew up in Montreal, Quebec. I grew up in Prince George in the
interior of British Columbia. We now live in the beautiful city of Vancouver, British Columbia.

What Is A Parenting Coach?
|

I get asked this question a lot. First of all a coach is someone who partners with you to help craft
exactly the life you want. We're not therapists or counselors. We do much the same as a sports coach
does except we focus on your life. In my case I work mostly with parents to help them create exactly
the family life they want by offering them new strategies and supporting them in all their efforts. I
work privately over the phone; and I also present workshops and teleclasses on all aspects of being a
parent in the 21st Century.
My formal background is in Early Childhood Education. I've worked for over 20 years in the
field of Family Life Education, providing workshops to parents all over the Greater Vancouver
area. In 2002 I began taking courses in Life Coaching and continue to take courses from a variety of
sources. I am also training to be a Law of Attraction Coach to apply this very powerful law to my own life
as well as to the parents I coach.
I also have an extensive background in American Sign Language which began over 25 years
ago when I was invited to work with a child who was deaf and autistic and placed in a preschool program.
I've worked with deaf and hard-of-hearing people of all ages and have been teaching Introductory Sign
Language classes for over 20 years. Right now part of my business is teaching ASL (American Sign
Language) to babies.
