a nice quote on flowers

"People from a planet without flowers would think we must be mad with joy the whole time to have such things about us".

One has to really smell fragrance and experience the same to get joy.

Quality of English

RANT ON
The quality of spoken english of a person is, IMO, a
function of

i. Environment,
ii. English learnt as a student and
iii. Frequency of usage.

How many of us, on the list, have not had to
experience the 'Angrez ki aulaad', when using english
during student days? Linguistic chauvinism,
provincialism and, the passing of teachers who learnt
english in another era ... all have their part to
play. The other day, I met this young boy; his
pronounciation of the alphabet 'A' as 'Ah!' has left
me wondering whether my kid ( if i get married and
have one (+: ) might not be better off
learning the language from me, or from it's
grand-parents.

I see people spend not-insignificant sums of money, to
enroll in one of the many English language courses
that seem to have sprung up, and yet remain
disinclined to use english as the medium of
communication in office, except with clients from
abroad.

Then there are those who, possibly overdosed on
movies, manage to introduce colourful words into
middle of a sentence.

A firm that offers 'remuneration to commiserate your
responsibilities' makes me wonder. Thank you, I don't
need your help to commiserate!

What is upsetting is that inspite of having so many
languages and dialects on the sub-continent; a fertile
learning field, so to speak, we seem to be so good
at torturing not only our local languages, but also
some of the foreign languages that we may happen to
use.

I heard of an incident where some of our fellow
citizens on the sub-continent were speaking
with a foreigner in english. Apparently one of them
did not understand something. Whereupon the other
proceeded to explain the things in the vernacular,
using english words with hardly any reservation. The
foreigner was later overheard saying, "The Indian
languages must be very poor, they even need to
borrow words from English to explain something in the
vernacular!".

RANT OFF

A lot of good things we see today, technological
skills, strong medical manpower ... have their root
in the efforts of the previous couple of generations.
I do not discount the efforts of the present
generation, but what will our legacy be?

IF THERE IS A LESSON TO BE LEARNT HERE IT IS SPEAK GOOD ENGLISH CONFIDENTLY

A POEM

Every one lives
Everyone dies
Every one laughs every one cries,
Some tell the truth some tell lies,

Every one wants buiness,
Everyone always wants more,
Everyone does not know the price to pay anymore

The more you want the less you get,
What has happened to the real goal did everyone forget?
Or is it that everyone realize later and always regret,

Let us not fret,
Let us not cry,
Let us give each other real business,
Let us all find happiness

Let Ryze not become a joke,
Let us not make Ryze BROKE,
Truer words I never SPOKE,
One has to learn to give HOPE,

As Ryzers we must make events happen,
Take calculated risks more often,
Our knowledge we must sharpen,
Our minds we must open,

I find it easy to say no but by saying yes,
Only then shall we have any progress,

Ryze is indeed a great platform,
Let us learn and inform,
Make Ryze a better place,
Give more Ryzers more breathing space,

Let us try and accelarate technology, business and trade,
And I shall not let this dream FADE,
Problems we can solve,
Let us not lose the resolve,

Let us all understand,
Give every Ryzers and Ryze a helping hand,
Let us not allow this dream to fall like sand,
Let us know it (the sand) is falling from our hand,

I believe in Ryze and it is my BRAND.

Some of my favorite sites, quotes and articles are below:
Interesting websites will now be shared with only those who give me more business. If you have missed the websites send me an email I will be happy to send the websites to you on your personal email. However I want more business and will respond only if I get the order for supplying Incense to corporates.

I gave away free info-nobody values the same. That is the lesson I have learnt painstakingly.SO I want pleasure (orders only) only now and no more pain (waste of time).

The quote below is a favorite of mine.

"In order for you to profit from your mistakes, you have to get out and make some."

If you want to change direction and be different-then act differently lead from the front. It takes courage.

Give me a chance to sell Incense Sticks to you even if it is by mistake - but first make the mistake.
