I have been operating as an independent non-executive company director for over 12 years, and am available selectively for further appointments.

I also act as an independent consultant in the areas of:

* Strategic management advice at Board/CEO level;

* Mentor to  Chief Executives of businesses in any field,

* High-level strategic assignments, reviews, and projects, where there is a need for an independent approach, confidentiality and discretion, and where a wealth of broad industry, cross-functional and cross-cultural experience can be worthwhile. My talents are particularly suited for assignments to assist overseas companies enter the Australian market (but PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT interested in "Network Marketing"/MLM businesses !).

Geography is not an issue for me, in any assignment - I consider myself to be a "global" person.

Right now, I am continuing to explore opportunities to do business in China, where I have established a high-quality network in several cities. I am aiming mainly at the provision of strategic consulting and investment banking services to Chinese businesses, through my personal connections, and through management consulting and specialised advisory firms. My objective is primarily to foster the development of Chinese management abilities, and to develop trade. So consulting advice to Chinese companies and chief executives about their future development, is what I like to do, for companies of reasonable size (not small). The flip-side of this is that I can also provide advice and discreet "on the ground" services for western companies seeking to establish relationships, or to target investments or acquisitions, in China.

From 1999 to September 2001, I was contracted as Managing Director of Space Mark Australia Pty Ltd, a US-owned provider of facilities management, maintenance, and IT services.

Prior to May 1993 I was with Westpac Banking Corporation for many years.  My ultimate position with the bank, held for over three years, was General Manager for New South Wales, responsible for all of the Bank's commercial and retail banking activity in the State, leading over 10000 staff through a period of massive change.

From 1988 to 1990, I was the foundation Executive Director of Westpac Training Services Pty Ltd, developing this new company to be a successful professional provider of technical training, management and organisational development activities, and consultancy services, to the market at large.

For four years from late 1983, I was the Chief Executive of the Pacific Islands Division of Westpac.  Based in Fiji, I led major successful expansion of the Bank's representation throughout the diverse economies of the Pacific Islands region.

My experience covers a wide variety of functional areas, including strategic level general management, strategic planning, human resources management, finance/accounting, the management of technology and systems development, delivery of financial services, credit and lending. Recent consulting and line experience has been at the strategic CEO/Board level in several enterprises operating in a wide range of activities. My mix of high level executive experience, comprehensive skills, and an incisive approach provide an ability to add value across a broad range of industries.

Professionally, I am a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Banking and Finance, and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (U.K.). In other technical streams, I am a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, a Professional Member of the National Institute of Accountants, and a Chartered Member of the Australian Human Resources Institute.  I have been a National Councillor of the Australian Quality Council, and am currently a Trustee of the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA). Ah, almost forgot, I am also an Accredited Mediator of commercial disputes.

I hold the degree of Bachelor of Science (Honours) with specialisation in Financial Services, from the University of Manchester, Institute of Science and Technology (U.K.)

I am a Member of the NSW Legal Profession Advisory Council, the Australia China Business Council, the Australia Fiji Business Council, and a Director of Resimac Limited, Ozzyconnect Limited, Ability Education Pty Ltd, and several other private companies (engaged variously in English language education, Financial Services, I.T., Business Services, Manufacturing, and Trade).  I have a comprehensive network of cooperative relationships with other advisers, consultants, and service providers, in Australia and the South West Pacific (so if I can't help, I may be able to recommend someone who can!).
