As a Paralegal Litigator, Tanya Hutchens fostered business relationships with her clients in order to prepare cases that were presented for a court of law. Upon hearing their stories, Tanya Hutchens became invested in a different way. Tanya Hutchens not only represented these clients legally, but also decided to get involved outside of the scope of justice. Although she first heard her clients’ stories of physical and mental domestic abuse as urgent family law matters, Tanya Hutchens continues to aid in causes that stop violence against women. Tanya Hutchens visited battered women’s shelters and met the occupants. To better legally represent these women, Tanya Hutchens held discussions with her clients. Understanding that quick action must be taken to end the cycle of violence, Tanya Hutchens assisted with taking these transgressors to court and placing restraining orders on them for her clients. Additionally, Tanya Hutchens gave mothers custody of their children so they could move on from this dark period in their lives, together. Through her Paralegal Litigation, Tanya Hutchens showed women that domestic violence is never warranted and should not be tolerated, and justice for this cause can be served. Today, Tanya Hutchens continues her efforts to end domestic abuse through various outreach efforts. A master with a level two black belt in tae-kwan-do, Tanya Hutchens coaches women in self-defense.
