11/09/07 It's been quite a while since I've written to you all. Things have changed so much. I am currently seperated and getting a divorce from my husband Michael of thirteen years. Sad, but something I had to do in order to save myself. I have embarked on a new personal life. I have lost over 200 pounds and continue to lose. I no longer suffer from the effects of lymphedema. I will never be free of the affliction, but I have it completely under control and I am in the best shape I've been in, in years. I don't want to jinx anything, but I do have the beginnings of a possible romance budding and I am very excited about the possibilities. He is an amazing man whom I have known for quite some time now. Wish me luck. My third book, "Husbandry 101" should be out in the next few months, and I am currently finished with my first mystery novel and writing the sequel with many more irons in the fire for future works. I wish you all happy holidays and hope to be back to visit with you soon. Check out my website at www.freewebs.com/tarmstrong and sign my guestbook. Take care. Terri Ann *********************************************************** 1/29/06 Happy new year! It's been busy from the start. Since I last spoke with you all, my mom passed away after a long bout with emphysema. She is at peace now. I'm still waiting on the cover for my second book. I got an offer from another publisher to publish my third book, but the terms are not acceptable for me, so I have to bow out gracefully and thank God for the opportunity presented. Editing has been busy and productive. I'm having a blast! I get the opportunity to not only make a few dollars to promote my own book, but I get to read some really amazing pieces of literature before anyone else! That is quite exciting for me. My grandson is growing by leaps and bounds and my writing is flying across the pages. I am in the beginning stages of writing my eleventh book. I still haven't found a literary agent to help me sell my children's chapter book. I am looking for reviews for that one. If you're interested, contact me through my website at www.terrisheart.com, send me an e-mail, and put "Review of Children's Book" in the subject line and I will pass it on. I already have the copyright on it so I hope to have someone show some interest in it soon. I hope your year is starting off well. I will be back again soon to update you on what's happening. Have a wonderful day. Terri *********************************************************** 11/18/05 Okay, 6-10 months came very quickly. Last week, I received my formatted proofs for my second book, "Where Do I Begin?" and I am overjoyed! I have until November 25 to send it back. Then in 4-6 weeks I will have a cover and about 4 weeks after that, I will be holding my second book in my hands! Now that's awesome! I am planning on attending a PA authors get together in California next July for a three day event. There will be music and refreshments and lots and lots of authors to meet and greet you, sign your books and just chat with. It promises to be an exciting time for everyone attending. If you think you're excited, I can assure you the authors are on cloud nine! We look forward to seeing each one of you there. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I know for me, there are so many things in my life that I'm grateful for. My healthy grandson, my lovely daughter, my mom is still with us, I have a wonderful sister and two brothers. My husband is healthy and working hard and I have started two more books. Already having eight books completed, the only thing left to do with those, aside from finding a publisher, are the pictures that need to be done that go with my children's chapter book, "The Genie and The Spirit" and organizing my second book of poetry entitled, "Listen With Your Heart." I want to thank everyone who has purchased my first book, "My Soul Has Spoken." I hope that you enjoy it and share it with everyone you love, I wrote it for that purpose. My website, www.terrisheart.com is still going strong. I hope you get a chance to stop by and read some of my work and sign the guestbook and put a pin in the guestmap so I can see where you are. Wishing you all a very safe and happy holiday season. I'll be back again soon with an update. Terri *********************************************************** 10/20/05 Well...it's been two months since I last spoke with you. I just received an e-mail from my publisher, telling me it will be 6-10 months from the time I signed my contract, which was last November, when my book will be ready for puchase. That's exciting! My children's book is coming along and I just got a review from a twelve year old boy named Jeremy. He LOVED it! As a writer, I could not possibly get a better review, than from someone who is within the genre I have written for. That is golden as far as I'm concerned. Thank you Jeremy for the time you took to read and review my work. I still haven't heard from my other publisher who is still looking over my book, "Husbandry 101," which was submitted earlier this year. I received an e-mail stating they had gotten behind from all their submissions and their move to a permanent office, and that I should be hearing from them soon. That was a month ago, so I am still waiting. As soon as I hear, I'll let you know. I finally got my copyright back for "My Soul Has Spoken" and I have to send a copy to the publisher. Now I wait for the second copyright for my second book, along with my third and fourth. Robin Gorley and I have our Intenet Editing Service (www.freewebs.com/rteditingservices) which is going quite well. I also just finished editing PJ Lawton's second book, "Lethal Promise," which, in my opinion, is a phenominal detective novel as is the first in his series, "Lethal Option." If you have time, check out his book. If you love detective novels and even if you don't, his work is top notch and I hightly recommend it! I have read several authors through my publisher as well as my editing service, and I highly recommend them below: Starr Reina, "Cruel Whispers" & "Cruel Past" Sherry Moore, "Shadows of The Past" PJ Lawton, "Lethal Option" "Lethal Judgment" Tony Sampson, "For The Love of God" Pamela deleon-Lewis, "Smiling Through Tears, A Breast Cancer Survivor's Odessey" Donna Laird, "Forever Yours" and "Katrina's Destiny" David Lewis, "Forever Moments" Be sure to check out my websites listed at the top of my page, and if you know anyone in need of top notch, very affordable editing services, please give them my editing services website address listed in this e-mail and tell them to contact me through my e-mail there. They won't be sorry. Thank you for visiting me, have a great and blessed day! Terri *********************************************************** 8/20/05 Hello again. Marketing has proven to be a real monster, but I love it. So much goes on that no one would know unless they did it themselves. I hope everyone who has purchased a copy of my book enjoys it. It was a long time coming and is filled with moments that show who I am inside. My second book, "Where Do I Begin?" is in the editing department now, waiting it's turn to be edited and sent back to me for any changes I might want to make. It's exciting to know that I have one waiting in the wings as my first one is selling. I have several more written and ready to go, but only one is another poetry book. It is my hope to get a Literary Agent someday. I have a children's book that I would love to sell as a movie. It is something I'm very proud of. The whole family will love it, I'm sure. I've been busy editing a fellow authors book, and it's going rather well. They are really open to change and have a willingness to accept criticism. Robin and I have our editing service going full-blast and we now have a contract with Outskirts Press, a self-publishing company and we are quite please with them as they are with us. They are so happy in fact, that they want to do some advertisement for their company and include a recommendation to use our services. I think that's wonderful and we are on board! For those of you who want a reasonable editing price, we do it all. You can check us out at www.freewebs.com/rteditingservices. It's R&T Editing Services, A Writer's Best Friend. Tell your author friends about us as well. I hope everyone has a blessed day. Terri ********************************************************* 4/28/05 The cover for my first book has come and gone back on approval to the publisher. Now it's all a matter of time. There's nothing else to do but wait for the FedEx truck to arrive with my author copies. The thing that amazes me about the cover is that roughly 5 months ago, I made bookmarks that I could pass on and/or use if I were lucky enough to have a book signing. And the sunset photo I put on my bookmarks almost matches the one on my cover. I had no idea what the cover was going to look like since my book hadn't even been edited yet. I found that to be amazing and somehow cosmic and this was all going to work out the best way possible. So now I'm into my marketing strategy and I hope to find ways that at least get my name and the title of my book around town, the rest is up to the buying public. Robin Gorley and I have started an editing service, "R&T Editing Services, A Writer's Best Friend." It can be seen at www.freewebs.com/rteditingservices. I hope you take time to check it out. If you or someone you know is a writer and is looking just for a fresh pair of eyes to point out typos, grammar and punctuation errors, and even suggest formatting, please refer them to us. We even offer free information on how to put together press kits, as well as a free review that can be used in your advertisements or put into your book as a fellow author. I hope you all have a WONDERFUL day!! Terri ********************************************************* 1/22/05 Welcome to my second website. I think I should start by telling you a little about myself and my writing. I was born and raised and still live in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. It's about twenty minutes from Albany, NY and one hour from Springfield, Massachusetts. It's a very small city of about 38,000 people. It's changed a lot over the years. We have many neighboring towns that have many cultural events. Tangelwood, which has a piece that's named after Leonard Bernstein who was born in Lowell, Massachusetts. He conducted his last concert here just two months prior to his death. He taught and conducted every year at Tanglewood for fifty years. He had to do his first big concert when he had been an up and coming assistant conductor for only two years. He had less than a days notice when the lead conductor had fell ill. He did a great job and that launched his famous career. He is also the one who wrote, "Rock A Bye Baby". So he's what you might call Massachusetts claim to fame! I have a grown daughter Ashley who's twenty-one. She is my daughter from my first marriage. I am currently married to Michael and we just celebrated our ten year anniversary in June of 2004. We do not have any children, but we do have six cats. Simba, Salem, Marmalade, Gus, Dusty and Peepers. They are our children. I have a two year old grandson, Tyler who is the light of my world and if you go to my personal website, www.terrisheart.com, you can see photographs of him and the rest of our family. I've been writing for years, but up until recently I never actively sought to have it published. I was lucky, my first book, My Soul Has Spoken will be out in a few months and I have another pending deal for another book called Where Do I Begin? which is about the struggles of losing weight. I also have another book at another publishers which I haven't heard about yet. If it gets published, I'll be sure to let you know. I am currently working on four other books, which I hope to have published. Writing for me is a way to get my feelings down on paper. When I write, I give them life and power and I believe that someone is going to benefit from what I write. I think that's why all writers write. They feel they have a story to tell or a message to send that could benefit someone whether it be a way to deal with something in their life, or to entertain them with a good story. I myself, feel as though I am incomplete if I'm not writing. My father passed away in 2000, my mom suffers from severe emphysema and is in a nursing home. She does as well as can be expected. My sister Tracy is married to Neil and has a little girl named Erica. My brother Carl is the baby of the family and he's not married yet. My oldest brother Michael is married to Joyce and has three children, Timothy, and the twins, Deborah and Sarah and they live in Troy, NY. I hope you take a minute to sign my guestbook and also to go by and visit my personal website. I'm sure you'll enjoy them both. I hope this day finds you at peace. Thanks for stopping by.
