Welcome to the Kick The Email Habit -
Online Syndicated Marketing network!

My friend and business partner, Kim Bloomer, and I are founding publishers at Quikonnex. We both run our own publishing channels:

Carlton's Corner
Carlton's Gifts
Aspenbloom Well Pet
Aspenbloom Well Pet - Pet Products

I published Carlton's Corner via email for a few months, m oved to an online format with email notification, but I finally got fed up with the bounces, false spam threats, complaints and hassle of email publishing. I had seen Quikonnex mentioned in several of the ezines I subscribed to myself and I decided to just cut the email strings and move cold turkey to Quikonnex. It will take a while to build up the readership I used to have (over 17,000 subscribers), but it's worth the peace of mind and the community at Quikonnex is "da bomb"!

Kim was a newbie publisher who started out in Quikonnex. She has not been tainted (grin) by the email publication lifestyle. She loves Quikonnex and the ease with which she was able to start posting her articles.

When I moved over to Quikonnex, I immediately saw the potential, especially after seeing how quickly my own channel views rose, and started trying to get an advertising co-op together. After one false start in a team approach, to which I simply could not devote sufficient time at the right time, I decided to go back to my original plan of starting my own advertising co-op. Kim and I clicked and here we are!

Our online marketing co-op encourages use of articles instead of ads to bring traffic to our channel, hence to your offers. Participating publishers need only post a piece of code on their own channels and websites to receive automatic feed updates as new articles/ads are posted. Advertisers with control of their own websites or channels can even add the syndication code to encourage even more visits to the channel and sites.

Different? Absolutely!... and that's the whole point. No more email, no more bounces, no more spam threats, just content-rich channels driving targeted traffic to your articles.

We have recently added an Article Bank to our services. For a limited time, you can get 2-for-1 posts. CLICK HERE to learn more or CLICK HERE to visit the article bank and pick up category-specific syndication links. It's a great way to add hands-free content to your site or newsletter.

We also have two ebooks available. "How to Start Publishing in One Day or Less !" is a freebie available on our channel or as a compiled executable that you can download, search and even print. "250+ Sites and Tools to PROMOTE Your Business Online" is available for purchase. The name says it all. CLICK HERE to learn more, download and/or purchase these ebooks.

RECOMMENDATIONS

My friend and business partner, Kim Bloomer is launching a new channel this weekend (9/11-9/12). Sharing Spirit is intended to share daily devotionals and Christian-based articles. Feel free to stop by and participate daily. Share your thoughts, your articles and your comments while you're there.

Ladies, if you're a professional woman looking for a great place to meet and share with other professional businesswomen, consider joining IVWCC. Kim and I are working on the new IVWCC Channel. IVWCC stands for International Virtual Women's Chamber of Commerce. The purpose of IVWCC is to bring professional women/business owners together with a common goal of helping each other succeed in business. We would love to have you join us. Each month, IVWCC holds a "Virtual Meet & Greet" session to give us a "push" to network for a couple of days. If you want to join the next one, email me for an invitation and instructions.

SYNDICATION INFO & LINKS:
Another benefit of Quikonnex is the ability to syndicate your content. That means others can use your content to provide hands-free, automated updates to their own websites or online newsletters. View my current posts and grab my syndication links HERE.

Your thoughts and feedback are welcome...and you're welcome to join us at KickTheEmailHabit.com or at our Quikonnex Channel

03/04/05RSS Is Good Stuff #

Joel Teo

Hi,

Just joined your network. RSS is cool stuff, I am so glad my website is built with the Mambo CMS that allows for direct RSS streaming. I just spend time submitting my blog to the RSS directories and then forget about it.

http://instantbizempires.com/content/blogcategory/81/63/

This brings traffic and links to your website!

Personally I have not really fancied the idea of offline mlm's where you sell to people you know. Im more into internet mlms' where people who want to find your products do so that way. So they look for your product rather than you look for them.

Anyway, that said there are ways to make money online without recruiting or selling stuff to people.

There are also automated ways to build internet mlms so that you do not need to crack your head to test different adverting methods although I do test them.

Regards,
Joel Teo

Cathy, what a warm, friendly holiday greeting, thank you!
I hope Geo is doing much better and that you are getting caught up on everything!

We do hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and a profitable one.

One little correction, actually Receiving Kindness At Last is a flower essence designed to help abused animals recover from their emotional traumas. My dog Shadrach is using it and the difference in such a short time is amazing. Flower essences work on the "energies" of the animal's body.

Thank you Cathy for mentioning that and for putting all our BOGOS in place!

FYI Everyone -One place I visited who offers an RSS article bank like we do charges $39.95 PER ARTICLE!

Happy Holidays everyone and safe traveling!

Hi everyone!

It's been a very busy month for me, so my apologies for the lack of activity here on the KTEH network. I was on vacation for a while, shortly after which my husband had surgery on his shoulder. He's still recovering but he's back to work and the holidays are in full swing now.

I just wanted to take a few minutes to wish all of you a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday. Whether the weather is rainy, snowy, hot or cold, I hope this holiday finds you in the company of those you love and those who love you.

10/28/04New IVWCC Meet & Greet Coming Up! #

Kim Bloomer

Hi Everyone!

Guess we've all been so busy we haven't taken the time to post to this network much.

The next IVWCC Meet & Greet is coming up next week. For those of you who aren't members, we hope you'll join us as our guests.

Here's the invite:

Companies that are interested in forming joint partnerships and strategic alliances with IVWCC members to expand their marketing reach in the women in business market are invited to participate.

The 24 hour virtual networking event will begin at 3 p.m. eastern and will continue all day Friday, November 5. Networking will take place on a private ListServ. You can post a special business profile and respond to insightful discussion topics developed to showcase your business. No matter what your time zone is, you will be able to participate from the comfort of your email account at your leisure. Please don't lurk. Lets make this a successful networking event.

Please help us to spread the word. The list is on moderated status until the event begins. You can submit your profile in advance. It will be released the day of the event.

Hey, and go check out the great interview I did with Rok Hrastnik of Marketing Studies. This guy might be young but he has it going on, let me tell you. He is offering Kick The Email Habit subscribers a chance to participate in an ongoing Q & A with him. Just send me a private message asking your particular marketing question and he'll answer you. Then we'll post that to Kick The Email Habit's channel.

Come on, get in on this - I did and he gave me an indepth answer which really got my thoughts and energy going in the right direction with my marketing efforts. Rok is very knowledgeable as you'll find out when you read the interview and he knows where of he speaks - he's done it not just talked it. So head on to http://www.KickTheEmailHabit.net and ask your questions. We're soon going to have an interview with a woman very wellknown in the PR field. Hope you'll join us for that too!

Hey Girl, I hear what you're saying as for being "twice shy" - guess I don't see it that way for me. I'm not shy about MLM because I know they work, but it has to be the right business at the right time for you. You have to do what you enjoy and I think that more than being "twice shy" is what sets your heart to doing creative things like your beautiful jewelry, and all your creative designs on our channels. You just shine there and that's what you need to do, methinks! As for me, I have no problem with the MLM because it gives me the opportunity to use incredibly great products (of which I could never, ever find in a store) and incorporate that into total wellness for people and their pets. To me, if I have to get those kind of quality goods through MLM, so be it! The power of duplication is another added benefit - I won't have to do it ALL one day. So, we each need to find our niches and run with what we love doing and where we know what we're best at. That is one of the many, many things I love about you Cathy - your honesty and also your forthrightness. You have a bad taste in your mouth over one company who wasn't honest, but there are many that are, although your feelings are understandable. It is so wrong to be taken on a deal, I know I've been the recipient of a couple of thos high dollar rip offs myself. I do know that is why you and I want to make certain we offer quality service and value to the clients who work with us in Kick The Email Habit. We know without a doubt, we are sitting on an industry that is about to take the Internet world by storm and it is going to be one heck of a ride. Even better, I get to ride the wave with you my friend!!! In health, wellness, AND success, Kim :-) > Cathy Carlton wrote: > Hi Joe, >

I inherited this team a little over a year ago when the onshore staff was transferred to the Dallas office. Even in AVON (yep, tried that too...about to get out of it), the uplines just can't be bothered if you're not pushing it full-time and in that upper earnings bracket.

Hi Joe,

Yes, the IVWCC Virtual Meet & Greet was a whirlwind event, to be sure. (For those of you who don't knwo about IVWCC, visit the CLICK HERE to visit the channel or CLICK HERE to visit the website.)

You asked about my full-time job. I've been in the telecomm industry for 24 years and the last 15 of that has been in IT. I have been a programmer, analyst, project lead and team lead. My current position is as a test project lead for a team which is primarily India-based. My prior team was disbanded after it was offshored 2 years ago. I inherited this team a little over a year ago when the onshore staff was transferred to the Dallas office. Contrary to popular belief, they're a great team and I have the utmost respect for them and their work ethic. Doesn't mean that I agree with the concept of offshoring so stockholders make more money, but that's another subject for another day.

As for home-based businesses, from our IVWCC event, you know that I have several irons in the fire. I have tried MLM's and they're just not for me. Let's just say "once burned, twice shy" after more than $5,000 lost to a "well-known", health related MLM scheme. Took me lock, stock and barrel. Even in AVON (yep, tried that too...about to get out of it), the uplines just can't be bothered if you're not pushing it full-time and in that upper earnings bracket.

My job provides the primary income and much-needed health benefits. My hubby is 17 years my senior and has a history of heart/arterial disease, so it's critical that I have those benefits. Bottom line...I can't leave this job voluntarily until I can replace my income and benefits. I can't commit fulltime to another "opportunity" without jeopardizing my current job. So I've been slowly building the businesses you saw during our IVWCC VM&G.

So, what ideas do you have that could guarantee what I need to get out of the corporate world?

Your turn!

Cathy

Just what kind of work outside the home do you do Cathy? If you really want t/b full-time home-based, lets dish a bit, it isn't as challenging as you might think, & I'm a relationship mktg expert, trust me!

You too Kim, Internet Commerce w/b better off having you two guys as full-time, & your respective families would benefit too. I have great contacts for healthcare via association discounts, screw those dwindling benefit programs that keep shrinking, you need to take charge of your benefits, Amen.

10/03/04New channel announcements #

Kim Bloomer

Hello Everyone!

I want to let you all know about all the new RSS channels Cathy Carlton and I are managing and building. Along with the channels you see listed on this board we've both started new channels.
Keep in mind that Cathy is the designer and web goddess behind all these channels. I manage our joint efforts but she builds them and manages her own.

Cathy started a new Quikonnex channel that is all about jewelery making and she is offering her exquisite pieces of jewelry right there on the channel for all to see. Please stop by her new channel at http://quikonnex.com/channel/page/carltonscorner-beads

We have a new Christian channel and we have several co-publishers involved while we both moderate the channel and manage it, along with publishing. Go to http://www.sharingspirit.net to check out this channel that is done with much love in the spirit of sharing Jesus.

Cathy built and we manage several channels for the International Virtual Womens Chamber of Commerce. This is the main news channel http://www.quikonnex.com/channel/page/ivwcc
This is the announcement page:
http://www.quikonnex.com/channel/page/ivwcc-announce
and this is the member profiles page of some of the members:
http://www.quikonnex.com/channel/page/ivwcc-members

You can find out all about us on those channels. We are also doing weekly interviews now on the IVWCC channel and also on Kick The Email Habit. If you'd like us to spotlight you, please contact me at http://AspenbloomWellPet.quikonnex.com - this is my private message system which is EMAIL FREE! You do have to be a member of IVWCC to be spotlighted on that channel, but not on Kick The Email Habit. Please let us spotlight all of you who are members of this network.

Okay, that's all for now. Hope you all are Kicking the Email Habit!!

10/03/04Networking Alert! #

Kim Bloomer

Hello all of you Kicking the Email Habit! Cathy and I would like to invite all of you to come join us this week for the International Virtual Women's Chamber of Commerce Meet & Greet.
Did I say women??? Yep, but guess what? Men can come too and we even have some men in the Chamber who promote women owned businesses and also want to form strategic alliances with women in business.
So, please all of you come and in a moment you'll see why we really want and need for you to. It's free and you can make some great online connections - something everyone on Ryze loves to do.
Secondly, the system we use for Kick The Email Habit, Quikonnex, is going to be one of the focal points of the Meet & Greet. They want to see if it can really help their businesses. Keep in mind that these Meet & Greets are done by email, so this is our chance to show the power of RSS technology. Please come everyone! Here is the invite and remember that should you decide to join, tell the CEO Jerrilynn Thomas, Cathy Carlton and Kim Bloomer of Kick The Email Habit sent you.

Here's your "formal" invitation:

NOTE:
During this month's event, we are going to take a brief "field trip". We are going to play around in an online conference room and experiment with Quikonnex (new RSS technology) to see can they can really help businesses communicate more effectively with their clients. You can ask questions and get them answered on the spot. The schedule for the "field trip" will be announced on Wednesday.

Hi Terry,

I'm the other half of Kick the Email Habit. In a nutshell, Quikonnex is a complete communications suite built around RSS (really simple syndication) technology. Using RSS, it is easy to share information across websites and channels. With a simple piece of code, the recent posts to a Quikonnex channel can provide automatically updated content to other publishers or webmasters.

Subscribers choose when they visit your channel instead of you shoving an email down their throat, from a typical email publisher perspective. You don't have the expense or hassle of maintaining an email list, hence no hassles related to spam filters, complaints, bounces, etc. As a publisher, you can post when you want, schedule posts for future release and let the channel run on auto-pilot while you're on vacation! You and your subscribers can read at their leisure and feel like they have more control because they're chosing when and how they read your channel.

In addition, there are several ways to regain the interactivity with subscribers that is so lacking with email newsletters today. First there is QMTP (quick message to publisher), which allows Quikonnex members to communicate with each other without email. We can even get audible notifications when a message is delivered. Also, you can allow readers to post comments and have an ongoing "conversation" on topics related to a post. Anyone who reads that post can see the comments and share their views. That's not as easily accomplished with email.

Full publishers also enjoy the ability to create multiple channels, so we can have separate products, topics, "lines", etc by creating subchannels and promoting them. The icing on the cake is that a channel can actually serve as a website or a series of mini-sites if so desired. The purchase (independent of Quikonnex) of a domain name and (usually free) redirects, give you the professional feel, an easy-to-publish website and your sites/posts can be shared...as mentioned earlier.

Another bonus is that you're not limited by an email list. Your postings are available and searchable on search engines and blogs. As long as you keep the content clean and rich (high in information), other bloggers will gain access to your posts, which would not happen with an email publication. They come to you instead of you scrambling to attract them.

I know this is a bit like drinking from a fire hose at first, but stick around. You'll be up with the lingo in no time!

Have a great weekend!
