It sometimes takes us too long to understand this. Some years back I was telling a friend that I didn't understand why strangers smiled and acknowledged me frequently. I'm not shy and will talk with just about anyone to my detriment at times. My friend said it is becase I'm smiling back. Hadn't really considered that, just Blessed and grinning; even when it isn't so pleasant.
