RESERVATION ----- NO NEED OF MERRIT ????? |

This is the first time,I am feeling so frustrated due to bad
politics in India. I never write about politics or things happening
in India but now decided to write my feelings on reservation and
politics.
Recently Indian Government decided to introduce 27% reservations for
OBC (Other Backward Class) in professional colleges in India.
Government is saying that his motive is that people who are poor,
should get chance to get good education and in this way people in
India will be at same level after sometime.
People who are in support of this, they are saying:
OBC consist of total 50% of Indian population and giving them
reservation means, helping 50% population of India (however recent
data of some government body says that it is 30%)
As Government is having reservation in Jobs for OBCs for giving
reservation will them equal opportunities to get a good job with
good education
Now what I think:
Reservation will make India a second grade country because people
who will get 40-50% marks will get admission in IITs, IIM and people
who are getting 80% marks will sit outside. This will happen only
due to CAST which is not in the control on one person. CAST is given
by GOD at the time of birth and one can't change it.
Reservation will divide India again (First partition was in 1947
when India divided in India and Pakistan). Last time it was divided
physically and this time it will be divided by emotionally and
mentally.
Reservation will make our first class institutes (IITs, IIM)
producing second class graduates because education is just like a
machine in which output depends on input, so if you give second
grade students then output can't be world class
Again the benefits of this so called reservation will be taken by
upper OBC families as their kids can go for education and at the
time of higher education they will get reservation so mostly this
benefit will not go to poor families
What Government can do instead of Reservation?
Provide free education up to primary and secondary level for OBCs
student.
Open more training centers like ITI to give job oriented trainings
to OBCs population
Give reservation to OBCs around 10% but only to the people who are
from poor family (for example having family income less than 10000
Rs/month) ,simultaneously increasing the facilities in professional
colleges to increase seats and opening new professional colleges so
that for the people who are not under reservation categories there
will be increase in seats also
Give reservation to only families who are having 2 or less kids , in
this way India can reduce the population also.
What option we have if Government is not listening to us:
Sit home and watch news on TV that what's happening as it is not
going to effect us because we are already in jobs and keep abusing
politicians for all these things
Apply for immigration for countries like US, Canada , UK or
Australia . Leave India and keep saying that "Nothing can be done
in INDIA"
Take part in anti reservation movements so that we can try to save
our next generations, to feel the pain of reservation. By giving
support to movements against reservation based on CAST, we are
indirectly helping India to produce top class students from
professional colleges and it will help India to be developed country
by 2020.
When other countries are going on Moon, What Indian politicians are
doing:
Having the mindset of 17th Century and dream to be developed country
by 2020.
You can not have India as developed country by making most of Indian
youth population handicap and giving them stick of reservation.
You can't isolate yourself from whole world and can't face
competition from other countries by giving reservation and producing
second great professional to this global world.
Today we are doing great in IT because we have most talented people
who got good education and worked hard to achieve this. This is our
great education system that we are doing so good in IT but if
reservation is going to stay then this will be story of past which
we will tell to our grand children as our grand parents tell us that
in past India was the "GOLD MINE".
Think what you want for you and for next generation and act on this.
Without action, nothing can happen. There is one famous
saying "Without death you can't get Heaven", so to see and get
benefits of HEAVEN, you have to die.
Just I want to repeat the statement which was given by our GREAT
Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru to all chief ministers on
June 27, 1962 on reservation:
"I dislike any kind of reservation. Help should be given on economic
considerations and not on cast. I react strongly against anything
which leads to inefficiency and second rate standards. I want my
country to be first class country in everything. The moment we
encourage the second rate we are lost"
