Hi Everyone,
Due to popular demand, we are expanding the Half Dome Hike into a
Yosemite
Sightseeing Tour! There are several people who would like to go there
just
to sightsee or do their own short hikes. If you are one of them and
would
like to join us, you will be more than welcome.
Your cost is $48 per person in a four person tent cabin for two
nights.
(Total is $48, not $96.)

Date: June 4th, 5th, and 6th.
Itinerary: Drive to Yosemite on Friday, June 4. Hike Half Dome on June
5.
Drive back to the Bay Area on June 6.
Goal: To hike up to the top of Half Dome.
Distance: About 20 miles round trip: 1 mile from the cabin to the
trailhead
plus 9 miles from the trailhead to the top of Half Dome,
Elevation change: 4800 feet.
Difficulty: EXTREMELY STRENUOUS, 9 on a scale of 10. ASCENDING HALF
DOME,
EVEN WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF THE CABLES, CAN BE DANGEROUS. PARTICIPATE
AT
YOUR OWN RISK.
Lodging: Tent cabins at the Curry Village inside Yosemite. Four beds,
four
persons per cabin. Towels, linens, blankets and pillows are provided.
Sleeping bag is recommended. Dormitory style showers and toilets close
by.
Food: You need to bring food and water only for the day of the hike.
The
rest of the meals can be purchased at restaurants in Curry Village.
Cost: Estimated cost is $48 per person for singles, $145 per couple
for the
whole tent. Any money left over will be donated to GCCC.
After hike activity: Sumptuous brunch at the elegant Ahwahnee Hotel on
Sunday. (Not included in above costs.)
Cancellation Policy: If you cancel before April 30th, You will get a
full
refund. If you cancel after April 30th, we will try our best to resell
your
spot. However, there will be no guarantee that we would succeed in
reselling
your spot, so you may not get all or any of your money back.
ONCE AGAIN: *** HIKING TO AND FROM HALF DOME IS EXTREMELY STRENUOUS.
ASCENDING HALF DOME, EVEN WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF THE CABLES CAN BE
DANGEROUS. PARTICIPATE AT YOUR OWN RISK.***
Furthermore, if you have not done at least a 10 mile hike recently,
you
might not be ready for this hike.
