I have gone to a lot John's hike. He divides
into two level; Easy and hard. his hike
usually have beautiful sights.

Destination: Sanborn County Park, 16055 Sanborn Rd, Saratoga.
Time: Saturday August 28, 12:40 PM to 6 PM
Gathering Place: Outside of Nordstom Rack, 1600 Saratoga Ave., Westgate Mall, San Jose.
Organizer: Chinese Professional Fellowship Everyone is welcomed.
Degree of Scenic Beauty: 7 at scale of 10, redwood forest trail.
Degree of Difficulty: 1 at scale of 5, 6 miles, downhill most of the time.
Things to Bring: Water, snack food, outerwear, and sturdy shoes. To express the appreciation, each passenger is recommended to share $4 of gas mile to the driver.
Note: (A). The restroom facility at Indian Rock is limited. You may want to use the restroom facility at Westgate. (B). Roughly 1% of people may feel carsick at Highway 9. The syptom will disappear rather quickly. If you are carsick, you may seat at the front seat of the car.
Plan: Gather at 12:40 PM. Carpool and departure from Westgate at 1 PM. Arrive Summit Rock parking lot at 1:40 PM. Hike at Skyline Trail at 1:50 PM. Stop briefly at Indian Rock at 2:20 PM. Start to hike along the pine forest at 2:30 PM until reaching Sanborn Trail. Turn left onto Sanborn Trail, and gradually descend into Redwood forests. At the cross of Sanborn Trail and San Andreas Trail, turn right and stay on Sanborn Trail. At the next trail intersection, turn right towards Sanborn Creek. Hike downhill on the asphalt road across the camp sites. Arrive Youth Science Institute by 4:15 PM. We may visit the nature center there. The rest and snack time is from 4:15 PM to 4:40 PM. At 4:40PM. We provide ride for drivers to Summit Rock parking lot to pick up their cars. Drivers then drive their cars to the parking lot near Peterson Grove. Drivers pick up the passengers at 5:10 PM and get back to Westgate at 6 PM. Dinner together afterwards is optional.

Direction to Westgate Mall: Take Highway 280 Saratoga Ave exit. Drive southbound on Saratoga Ave. Turn left onto Atherton Ave. Turn right into the Mall at Southwood Dr. Turn left and drive along the northeast end of the Mall, you will find Nordtrom Rack sign at your right hand side. If it is the first time you join our hiking event, the easiest way to locate our group is to come into Westgate from Atherton Ave instead of from the other side.
Direction to the Summit Rock Parking: From Westgate, drive southwestern bound on Saratoga Avenue After passing the intersection of Saratoga Ave and Saratoga Los Gatos Rd, Saratoga Ave will become Big Basin Way (Highway 9). Drive uphill on Highway 9. At the intersection of Highway 9 and Highway 35 (Skyline Blvd.), turn left onto Highway 35. Drive 1.4 miles on Highway 35, and turn left onto the Summit Rock dirt parking lot.
Direction from Summit Rock Parking to Sanborn Park parking lot: Drive on Highway 35 toward intersection of Highway 35 and Highway 9 for approximately 1.4 miles. Turn right onto Highway 9. Drive downhill. Immediately after passing a bridge, make a sharp right turn onto Sanborn Road. Drive one mile. Watch the Sanborn Park sign. Turn right and drive uphill. If the ranger is at the entrance, please advise ranger that you just come to pick up the passengers and will not park inside so that the ranger will not collect parking fee from you. Turn right and drive into the parking lot.
