I am an author and it takes a lot of self promotion to get people to read my book. I have found that if start talking to someone about my book other people will say Oh are you an author! I try to tell people everywhere I go about my book or one of the other books I have read by fellow authors. I carry business cards with me at all times. Some of the other authors have even sent me their cards and I hand them out with mine to try and get us all noticed. I know I need to do more I'm just not sure what. But I do know that word of mouth goes a long way.
