I've had that happen to me. Luckily, a filter on the receiving end bounced the message back to my e-mail address and I found out about it.

The worse thing is if you're in an industry and your competitors receive an e-mail not sent by you, criticizing or flaming their business. Just watch out for that.

Sadly, anybody can do it and there is no way of protecting yourself.
