This is a parable in my book. You can get a free copy from my personal page. This is one of the most limiting factors in mental growth. Too many people base their entire life based on what others perceive them to be. I just heard my statement on TV the other day and was flattered that someone had used it. The girl was telling how she overcame because she did not need to be what others thought she should be.
I just visited a young man last week that I had not seen for over five years that read my book when he was 19 years old. He had nothing, his English was so poor that it took him twelve hours to read my book, his family had placed him in homes for troubled children from the age of five, he was continuously in and out of juvenile hall; EVERYONE treated him as a failure and they all told him he would never amount to anything.
I am proud to say he still had the book and it was well worn. He now owns a new three bedroom home and has a wonderful wife and very happy one year old daughter. He is very successful and beat the mold others had cast.
