I'd like to just get bike paths everywhere. I'd ride to work tomorrow(5-10 miles) if I didn't have to shuttle my kids everywhere. If there were bike paths for kids they could use them too (what a concept).
Now there's an impact. Fitness levels go up, carbon levels goes down.
And there's nothing innovative about it. Didn't require TRIZ, or Elegant Solution, or brainstorming, 40,000 ideas, or any science or patented methodology. I just heard Al Gore's Nobel speech and he trumpets "innovation" to get us out of this mess, but I think all that innovation stuff is out the window.
What does it require? It requires physical fitness, i.e. diet and exercise for the what, 75% of people on the road who could handle a bike. The practice would improve fitness, our children's fitness, therefore bike would serve as both transportation and fitness.
Ok, enough ranting...
