When I first came to Ryze, I did not even know how to properly post a message. My initial post was promptly denounced by high-profile Ryzers. From a less than admirable start, I learned how to use the system. People on Ryze actually instructed me. I learned a little HTML code and how to use Ryze's HTML Editor. Though Ryze members I learned about Web 2.0 innovation - services like Squidoo, Talkshoe and Skype.

While I suppose many of the folks here hope to develop business relationships that lead to sales, just developing meaningful relationships with people around the world has proven very gratifying for me. For me, it is not all about money.

When I did my first business mixer for my small town's business association, Ryzers contributed jpeg pictures about their respective businesses that I incorporated into a slide show. This helped to add to the uniqueness the mixer. Suddenly, here was people from around the world being involved in a small town business mixer.

Then, last year, Ryzers from around the world came to my aid once again. I had tried to get the adult community to help me generate a buzz about the town's annual festival outside the county. I suggested asking the Fox News Channel to come and cover the festival. I knew nothing like this had never been done. I actually thought a video clip of small town festival would work on a broadcast like "Fox and Friends" quite well. But, try as I did, I could not get any adult organization interested in even asking for coverage. That is when I decided to approach the local high school. I got 30 students willing to write a letter to Fox. Each student would request a visit from their favorite news personality. That did not show any immediate results. So, I had the county marketing association send a press kit to the chairman of the Fox News Channel, Roger Ailes. That did not produce any immediate results, either. It was not until I asked Ryzers from around the world to call and email the Fox News Channel that a Fox News producer actually called me on the phone. Bottom line, Fox News came to Middletown, CA for the first time in the 45-year history of its annual festival...thanks to Ryzers.

Passionate people can make amazing things happen. And yes, we do have passionate people here on Ryze.
