Economic self-sufficiency... |

Hi all Tea Women Network members,
As some of you may know, I've been home taking care of my elderly parents for the past four and half years. In December 2006 my father passed away and since then I've continued to care for my mother. Over breakfast this morning we were talking about how last year, 2007, her doctors became convinced that she was dying of cancer.
I took my mom to many, many doctors during that year and the last one told us that he thought she had a rare case of a very lethal cancer. He recommended that she have a test to diagnose conclusively that she was indeed suffering from that cancer. Mind you she had already been to three doctors before who each had told us that their test would do the same thing. When I asked him to describe the test he told me there was a chance that she would get an infection from the test and the possibility of death was there as well. That's just from the test.
I discussed this with my mother at the time and she said that if she had cancer she wouldn't have surgery anyway so we decided that she wouldn't have the test. We discussed it with her internist and she said we could try to get my mother to gain weight and we'd "see" about the test in three months. I decided to get my mother's weight under control. She had lost about fifty pounds in the few years that my father was deteriorating and was extremely thin and quite weak by the end of last year. She looked dreadful and felt dreadful as well.
Over the past ten months, with my help and insistence on better nutrition, my mother gained five pounds and seems so much stronger and healthier than she has in five years. Yesterday a friend of mine saw her and remarked that she looked fifteen years younger than her age. Mom will be 84 next week and my friend thought she looked like she's in her late 60s, early 70s. Amazing.
The reason I'm telling you this story is that my attention to repairing my mother's health and strength required focus, attention to detail (what was she eating on a daily basis, how much exercise was she getting, etc.) and a belief that the so called experts, in this case the doctors, were wrong. They predicted her death from cancer within the year and now she looks and feels better than she has in over five years. Pretty good for an 84 year old woman. (If you run into my mother anywhere, please don't tell her I told you her age. She'd be really angry I told you her secret.) The reason I'm telling you this about mom is that I finally realize that experts don't always know what they're talking about for me and for you.
Lately, the news reporters have been talking about what sounds like the downfall of the American economy and that of most countries around the world. They talk about the layoffs and they talk about the fact that Americans are losing their homes in record numbers. The number of people losing their jobs is announced on every news program and in the lead offs to the news all day long. I work at home, have the TV on a lot and don't watch the news much, but I hear it nevertheless. It's non-stop. It's a disaster and it's going to get worse they say. But wait....
There's a way to "disaster proof" your life. You can start a basic internet marketing business by writing e-books. Before you delete this message and tell yourself that you're not a writer, not an internet marketer, not a business person, click on this link and register for these free teleseminars: http://www.1shoppingcart.com/app/?af=867019 Listen to them and see how you can begin the process of taking back your life.
Even if you already have a job, have a business, are a professional, there's no time like the present to start a side business and you can do it very easily. You can write about something related to your current profession or something you're passionate about, like gardening, holistic healing, child rearing, dog training, cooking. The list goes on and on.
Check out these free teleclasses being offered by some of the top people in the internet marketing field right now. I think you'll be pleased you did. http://www.1shoppingcart.com/app/?af=867019
By the way, I'm addressing this to you wherever in the world you live. E-book creation has become fairly common here in the United States but there's no reason why you can't do the same thing in India, China, England, Scotland, France, Canada, Singapore, to name just a few countries where our members live.
Please stop listening to the naysayers, the guys who keep telling us that times are going to get tougher and tougher. Take back your economic life and say that you believe in "economic self-sufficiency."
Warm regards to all of my many friends and supporters on this network,
Ellen Schultz Tea Women Network founder NYC
PS The guy who put together this line-up of free teleseminars, Conrad Hall, got into the e-book marketing business just last December when he was asked to write an e-book for another e-book author. Conrad has even included a teleseminar on how to outsource your writing so you don't have to write the e-book yourself if you don't want to or don't believe you can. I'm sure you can, but just in case. :-) Here's the link again: http://www.1shoppingcart.com/app/?af=867019
