My health, tea, etc.... |

Hi all Tea Women Network members,
As some of you already know, in February 2005 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Fortunately for me, my surgery was a success and so far, I've been cancer free for almost four years. My surgery was on June 30, 2005 and I've counted the hours until the five year mark, one that supposedly is a good sign for cancer survivors. I still think about it every single day and pray that I'll be okay.
However, I've made some changes in my life. For a few years I drank enormous amounts of green tea. I was drinking a green tea that was touted by a scientist who said the tea he sold was the best to prevent breast cancer. I might be overstating what he said, but I drank that awful tea two or three times a day until I couldn't do it anymore. I really don't like green tea very much and his was really strong. I do continue to drink organic green tea, but not every day and certainly a milder version.
Because heart disease is prevalent in my family, my biological father died of a heart attack at age 37 and my mother had a quadruple bypass at age 65, I'm most concerned about heart disease. I was very heavy for most of my life, in childhood and as an adult. I've lost around fifty pounds since my highest weight and I hope to continue until I get down to a healthy lower weight. I'm quite pleased that I've lost this weight. I look better. I feel better, but I still have a way to go.
I drink a lot of black tea because of its reported benefits for the cardiovascular system and because I love, love, love black teas. I gave up drinking it with milk because many reports I read said the benefits to the arteries go away when we add milk. I loved my black tea with milk and now I love it even better without it. I never add sugar or any other sweetener to my black teas.
My favorite teas are Darjeeling, Assam and now I've had some delicious Ceylon teas. I'm not crazy about the China black teas, but I have tried a number of them. I almost always drink organic teas no matter which they are.
I sometimes go on an oolong tea week or two. I like oolong teas better than I like green teas. I've read many reports that oolong tea speeds up the metabolism and is the best tea to drink for weight loss. I've had weeks where I drank nothing but oolong tea, but to be honest, I haven't stayed with it for more than a month. I have seen some weight loss drinking oolong tea.
Now, I've begun to search for all products that are as chemical free as possible. I've recently read several articles saying that the chemicals used to manufacture skincare products are carcinogenic, that is they cause cancer. I don't want them on the largest organ of my body. Our skin covers our entire body and everything we put on it gets absorbed and makes its way into our system. I'm very angry to find out that companies have knowingly put us in harms way and we might be getting sick because of our desire to be beautiful.
I recently found a line of healthy skincare products in New Zealand. http://www.abc-health-and-skin.info/ They actually do what they say they do. They reduce lines and wrinkles and make your skin softer and smoother. They don't contain all of the bad and do contain a lot of the good ingredients. They're not as expensive as many of the mid-priced and high-priced skincare lines out there. I know that millions of women buy skincare products to make yourselves look younger and more beautiful. Now, you can use products that may make your skin healthier too.
Check out this link. The website is simple and tells you better than I could what the story is and there's some links to the company that sells the products. I highly recommend you try these products for yourself.
When you try them, get back to me after using them for a little while and tell me what you think. http://www.abc-health-and-skin.info/
Warm regards,
Your tea loving friend,
