Hi David,
Personally...I find the most difficult thing about marketing online is building trust. Let's be honest, the Internet is a very cold and unpersonal place. It's just words and pictures. There's no warmth, no feelings.
As a customer looking for a product, why should I buy from YOU? I don't know you from Adam (or Eve). As a potential business partner, why should I join YOUR business or organization vs the next guy's?
Network Marketing or Direct Selling (and most of us here are in that industry I assume) is a RELATIONSHIP BUSINESS. We need to build a PERSONAL relationship with both our customers and business partners in order to be successful. This is much easier done offline where we can talk to people in person. They can see the smile on our face, the warmth and sincerety in our voice, the excitement, ect.
However, for a lot of us, who's business is international, the Internet is part of the "3 Foot Rule". The world is our market place and it is impossible to be physically everywhere. So we need to use emails to spread the word about our product or service. It is a lot harder to get people to trust you and build a relationship via email. They can't see your smile, they can't feel your excitement as much or feel the sincerety. So it takes a lot longer to build the trust necessary for them either to buy your product or join you in your business.
Anyway, I'm starting to ramble....That's just my 2 cents worth ;o)
Have a great week!
Ilka ;o)
