Fast Track In Acquiring a Skill-- By Len Johnson |

To quickly learn a new skill and get good at it there are three activities that divide the process.
First after defining the outcome of using the skill look at the activity. Study the ingredients that get you to the successful outcome or completion of using the skill. Lock that outcome in your mind.
It works the same way with getting a basketball in the hoop as it does learning a computer program or building a downline. Try to view the skill and outcome of using it from as many angles as possible.
Next take the skill for a spin around the block. Application is the key here. Using the skill within 24 hours will give you a decided advantage over studying it to death. You wont be proficient at first but that is a temporary situation.
Repetition is the third step and where most people fall down at getting good at what they do. They wont repeat using their skill consistently. Repetition is mundane and we tend to focus on the spectacular.
The spectacular is the outcome, the success, the goal. We must go through the mundane to get to the spectacular. It is a fact of life.
The formula for this is: Knowledge + application + consistency = ratio of success.
This is a fundamental learning process when teaching yourself or when you are teaching a group of people.
