Hi there.
I am a businesswoman in the UK and have a lifestyle business, primarily in the interior design of high end properties for the home market. We work in commercial areas too. I am looking to increase my network of high-net-worth clients and to increase my public exposure.
I live in a small village near Cambridge, England, with a brood of cats and chickens, so I am close to the country and to the city. I spend a lot of time on research and observation as I feel that to remain top-class as a designer you have to learn and learn.
My ventures for the future are to focus on getting our niche right, and then to create several income streams from related companies within the lifestyle and interior design trade over the next few years. I also want to raise my public profile and see if I can spin some business off of this.
My websites are off line at the moment - it started as a bit of a problem, but I am now using it as an opportunity to rethink the way that they are done. I am also developing a personal website that will be about living and lifestyle, and this is very exciting as I feel I will have a platform to directly air my own views. I am also looking for ways to make this personal website pay its way.
I feel that after a 10 year apprenticeship I am on the brink of experiencing a whole new phase within my business and exploring and developing the entrepreneurial talent I have.
I have learned so much being in business that it is hard to choose the key one thing - so I will just list one of many:
If something is not working change it. Immediately.
If something is working leave it alone.
