I was just watching Judge Judy and I heard a New Term, "Friends with Benefits." WOW! And the 24 year old Girl said it was nothing serious, no big deal. Now, that is the height of Stupidity, there is nothing more intimate and not to be used for recreation. We used to have names for girls who were loose and they were talked about and laughed at. Now it appears to be the Norm. The reason I am even bringing up yhis topic is this, It expresses the way Young people and Old Perceive things. This could very easily carry over into our Business Perceptions. Anyone who claims that moral values do not enter into our daily judgements do not fully understand the concept of dealing with people, especially people they have only coresponded with online.

I admit that I am shocked by the Morals and actions of our younger Generation. That is probably why some of their responses to Business situations seem so off beat and out of step.

So what is your Opinion, Let me hear it.

the girls have no respect for thier self. i have never in all my like seen girls kissing and humping on each other.
if that was my daughters i would drag thier ass out the place. Some of these kids are so drunk or messed up on other crap makes you wonder how the hell they going to get home.
Makes you also wonder how are these kids going to take care of thier businesses or thier self .

C'mon guys. You guys are not this naive. While I don't think anyone will disagree that many of today's young people are quite blatant in their promiscuity....

..it's also true that there are tons of young people who are wonderful people who've got their head screwed on right.

Additionally, don't fall for the "time warp illusion" that there weren't any sexual antics in the 1950s...or the 1850s...or the 1650s...or the 1250s...or at any other time in human history.

It wasn't all a Norman Rockwell painting...and what you remember as "the good old days" had its share of debauchery, too. :)

Just let me clarify...
Kids today aren't really any different than they were years ago. The difference is the parenting (or rather lack thereof). Just my 2 cents on this one.

Make it a great day!

Hi

I guess one of the really sad aspects is the girls who have serial babies (with different fathers) just for the prestige and Social Security income.

The poor kids are brought up with a completely screwed up set of values and very importantly without any real male input into their life and education.

The comments are timely - its Schoolies week. There are hoards of children fresh out of school, down on the Gold Coast - drinking and drugging themselves stupid. The pusher have a field day.

uhm... can anyone say woodstock? uhm.... the hippies? uhm... maybe try the greasers? this type of "extreme" behaviour has been prevelant in every generation. And the previous generation has always looked at the "youngins" in shock and disdain. It's nice to see that history will always repeat itself!

Gina,
For the sake on not offending the Younger Crowd here, we do have some of the brightest. I do agree with most of what you said, However. I was attempting to make a point about the "Progressive and Liberal" thinking of Todays Younger MLM'ers. Such meaningful things to us, like Marriage, and Business ethics, etc. do not matter to these kids. It is the "Me Only Generation, to H_ _ _ with everyone else". Speaking of drugs, LSD, Mushrooms etc, were Big in the 1960's. We had our problems there also.

Now, if you ask some of these Kids some pointed questions about their Business, they get very defensive and if you ask them what formal Business trining they have had, they stare at you Blankly. They have no idea what we are talking about.

Let's remember that morals aren't absolute. They vary from religion to religion and nation to nation. Morals are more of a cultural thing than something written in stone. Of course, we all believe that OUR moral code is the only moral code.

I strongly feel that some morals should be absolute, such as anything having to do with hurting others. But other morals, particularly those dealing with sexuality, should be left more to personal discretion. Some cultures are really uptight about sex, while others ask "what's the big deal?".

So before you get all contorted over someone else's behavior, ask yourself: is this really a morality issue, or is it simply a generational or cultural issue? That's something that can be tough to determine! Sometimes it just comes down to plain ol' jealousy! ("Those folks are doing things I never got the chance to do....it MUST be immoral!")
