Hello Folks.

Have you thought about joining Rough Cuts? In this manner
you can help shape "Help" books before they are published.
O'Reily offers this service and the fee is minimal.

I'm signing up today.

Hey Folks.

OK - so I was wrong about the PDF not being ready!

Here is how rough cuts works:
1 - You pay the fee.
2 - They send you info.
3 - You follow their instructions.
4 - You can read the rough cut online.
5 - OR they generate a PDF just for you (ID number is inserted).
6 - You can read and help with content development of the book.
7 - Each time an update is made to the rough cut you are notified by email.

The one signed up for is the "Twitter API: Up and Running"
So, now I have the rough cut version and can peruse, use
the info., and/or help edit (if I wish) with my comments.

Having used so many of the O'Reilly books for years this is
a great opportunity and fun project to entertain.

There is also a long list of books that are in the "rough
cut" category.

Ok Eileen Brown, and you others that were telling me as a noob about twitter and what it can do. As a skeptic and pure curiosity I was willing to give it a try since it seemed to be a hot subject here on ABHP.

Eileen, I'll start off by saying you were right about the click thing popularity. I tried posing a few topics from my website on twitter with the link provided through bit.ly or something like that. To my surprise that thread on my network received 60 clicks like the first minute that I posted it. Still not quite sure how or why, but it did. I don't even have that many followers.

Ok, so now your all wondering what I'm doing digging up one of Eileen's posts from December of last year. Well, it's about the API thing - I found it just truly amazing what I could do with it. Granted it got me in trouble with google a little but what the heck, Pretty neat. I've got my API running through a php file on my web server and called by a cron job every hour, so the API selects one of my 20 some odd posts that I have and automatically posts it for me. Which is how I got in trouble with Google Adsense. LOL - oops.

Anyway, thanks Eileen and all you guys for posting all the advice about twitter and helping a new member get started there, really appreciated.

Jim

Hi Jim.

Heh... I bet plenty of folks by-passed this little item
last year and still will...
Depends on what your priorities are, I guess.

Thanks Jim, It's nice to know someone cares enough to go
back and search out the items that to many, had no meaning,
at the time.

Even though I don't participate in many networks I still read and search archives. More often than not I find useful articles on Ryze than any other social network.

Brought the API article back up, No worries - you were probably just ahead of your time.
