Festivity, good cheer, love joy, peace, happiness, etc. are traits pertinent to each one of us, molding and enriching us. We therefore bank on them to feel good in our lives, lives enriched with basic things like education, some semblance of security and social standing, etc.
But have you wondered there are people out there for whom the above are a tad, alien. Cocooned in their own precarious worlds, their lives are akin to slender threads. A twist and they snap. Millions of lives around the country nay around the world are such slender threads and they need to become tensile to withstand and win over the forces of injustice and depravation heaped on them. At World Vision, we work with these people seeking to bring meaning and ‘tensility’ in their lives in order to transform them into a people who can stand their ground and fight for their rights. A people who can be empowered to lead lives of some dignity (might seem so basic for us) and self respect.
You have the opportunity right now to lend us and them a helping hand in their pursuit of such empowerment, even for that matter, being able to wriggle a pen to sign!

It’s probably just the cost of a meal for your family in a good hotel, but will make a huge difference for them.
You could talk about this in the organisation you work for or you run, and help as an organisation. I can assure you that the rewards from your act will run a long way in your life. BTW, even a smaller gift than suggested is welcome…its not the mind but the heart that matters and I know you have large hearts.
