My nonprofit, Bears on Patrol has been having some success in our social networking strategy, so I thought I'd share some of the things we're doing.

   We have our own online community, but our presence is largely on Facebook. 

• Bear Hugs Application - The Bear Hugs application lets you choose from about 40 bear hugs to send to your friends for different occasions and purposes.  You can find the application here.  Below is a screenshot of the application in my profile.

• Bears on Patrol Cause - The Bears on Patrol cause on Facebook currently has 138 members.  Once we have our nonprofit status, we will be able to accept donations on the cause's page.  This is a great opportunity to reach a wide audience to reach our goals.  We invite you to join the cause here.
• Bears on Patrol Page -The page for Bears on Patrol is more of an interactive experience where you can write on our wall, and we can share photos and links.  We can also post events, once we start scheduling them.  You can find our Facebook page here.

  We are also working on a publicity idea that will hopefully bring lots of attention, and possibly funds, to our organization.  The idea is that one of our bears will become a "Traveling Bear", going around the US, staying with different people, and getting his picture taken at places of interest in those areas.  There will be a travel journal, photos from the trip, and also audio and video of any press attention he receives.
