Susan Taylor Brown
Hello folks,
I'm just getting back into Ryze after a long time away...my how the place has changed....and just wanted to say hello.

I'm a full-time freelancer/speaker/teacher. I write mostly children's books though I tell people I write whatever I can get paid for. :)

My most recent book is a middle grade verse novel called Hugging the Rock. To celebrate National Poetry Month this month I challenged myself to write a haiku a day. As if that weren't hard enough, I limited the topic to my California Native Garden. Whew! It's been a fun challenge and has given me a lot of rough drafts to revise once the challenge is past.

Anyway, looking forward to getting to know you.

Welcome Susan and Sandra. Tell us a little about yourself, Sandra. What do you write? I've been in this network for a while now, but don't post often. Anyway, I'm glad to have you both here. Diane

I write about women of all ages. It has been said that I write realistic fiction and I concur. Women and their lives are complex, and so are their decisions. We have barriers to fight, and glass ceilings to break through. We love hard and work hard. What could be more fascinating.

Sushama Chatterjee
Hi,

I am new here as well.

About me: I am a marketing professional but recently took the step to bring some major changes in my career. I am currently a freelance content writer in India and intend to get some experience in the broadcast media industry where I can fully utilize my creativity and writing skills.

I love the act of writing as, in my recent experiences, it has proven to unlock ideas/ perceptions that are generally hard to access. I also find it cathartic and insightful. Overall, I enjoy everything related to writing, writers and books!! :-)

Susan - this is very interesting. Poetry is something i'm always passionate about. Perhaps we can connect.

Susharma - I love that word 'cathartic'. My close friend often says this: that writing is a catharsis. I find it to be even more: respiratory. Keep 'em coming :)

Warm Regards

hiya, i am in midst of writing my first novel. it started with a dream seven years ago. after the first few chapters came to a dead end, put it in cold storage. then in march this year travelling to pune from mumbai, with the humps and bumps of the bus ride truly shaking every bone in my body, the creative juices seemed to flow.

the novel is called the legend of the haans viman, the mystical airship. i have put together around 50,000 words and targeting 100,000.

can I post it on this forum? i would do it chapter at a time.

Oh wow! From the Mahabharatha? That would be cool!

Why not? A word of caution though. Make sure you have all the copyright arrangements firmly in place.
