Ken Lee Bringing you more customers
Last Saturday I was shocked out of my knickers at Walmart. It all began last October when I bought a small TV/DVD combo. Wednesday a week ago, the power supply burned out.

One of the reasons I shop(ped) at Walmart is their customer service/return policies. Here is how the day went.

I, a heart patient, carried the tv from my appartment to the bus stop and from the bus stop another half mile to the store. At the store, no one, up to the Assistant Store manager would give me satisfaction.

I admit that I didn't have the box or the receipt but there is a matter of trust and goodwill. This tv probably cost Walmart all of $25 at most and retailed for $150. They assumed that I was lying to them about buying the tv there and they lied to me about their cost. Then the manager tried to force me, a heart patient, to carry the broken tv another half mile back to the bus stop. They chased me across the parking lot to the company property line with the tv in a shopping cart, yelling at me to stop.

Livid didn't begin to describe how angry I was but I don't get mad, I get even. I decided to give the company one more chance to make things right so on Monday of this week, I wrote an email to corporate. Yhey chose to not even acknowledge that they received the email even though I did it on a contact form on their website.

I will never shop at Walmart again and will spend the rest of my life telling people why.

As small business people, this should be viewed as arrogance by big corporate America and it is this arrogance that gives us the advantage.

Hey Ken,

This sucks so bad... expecially for you. I know your health is not the greatest. Now my question is.. what would they have done IF you had a Heart attack while carring the TV??

People just don't care anymore.... whatever happened to the "good Ol' Days"? When the Customer is always right and people actually HELPED out the Sr.Citizen??

Just leave KARMA behind ..... she'll do the rest for ya lol. Yep I am still evil lol.

Take Care

Thank you Ally,

This really is their loss. Between household items I am having to get and groceries, I was spending about $200-$300 a month there. As my new business venture grows, they will be losing more. I keep focused on the comic relief of hearing them wheeling that tv over the parking lot and hollering at me. That keeps me ROTFLOL :))

Sorry to hear about your experience with Wal-Mart. Customer Service went out the window. On Top of that the Corporate Office didn't even acknowledge your E-Mail.
