I was asked how Twitter (I've two @PatriciaAllen and @PensAndTreasure) and Facebook (Patricia Jones Allen) are working for me.
These are my second and third forays into social networking. Ryze was my intro.
Originally at FB I posted a photo album of my pens with descriptions. I immediately got a request of my catalog. I didn't have a good website like I do now. I was thrilled and envisioned $ coming in. Those haven't materialized but are on the way. (Money is always here or on the way.)
At FB I've got FBFriends in my newsfeed with whom I interact and they now visit my website regularly. Sales are just needing that chemistry to happen.
Twitter is a new venture for me. I'm finding I need a phone with a keypad to keep in touch more often thru the day. Twice a day networking is hard in any venue, but twitter is hardest, I think. I've gotten great leads to what I personally need in business etc.
I just opened the second twitID so I can control the list of followers better...more specific to my market. My IDs follow each other. I would recommend people (me included) learn about # and decide of a few that are specific to one's markets and needs.
I have gotten two sales from online friends at another venue.
Always your best contacts are those whom you have sold to before. It doesn't matter if they are online or off.
I'm looking forward to becoming more specific and fussy as to whom I follow on both arenas. Fortunately Twitter and FB have tools to do that with.
