Since I just checked and I have noticed that we have now some 255 members - I thought that it might be interesting to ask all of the members here - how they think that they might benefit from knowing or being able to communicate or discuss just about anything that they would like to discuss with so many other business oriented people throughout the world -

Please let me hear from you your thoughts on this topic in this trhread - and feel free to write as much or as often as you wish either in this thread or in any other thread in this the Business Network here on RYZE -

thank you!

Walter

One of the opportunities that exists here is the opportunity to share your viewpoint. What is your view when it comes to the treatment of men by women and the treatment of women by men? Do you even have an opinion? Should there be some kind of unspoken protocol?

When I was a child, the saying "a woman's place is in the home" was very common. Today, such a saying is very uncommon.

When I was growing up it was customary for a man to open up the car door for a lady, court her with flowers, etc. Has that situation changed?

The glass ceiling women once complained about seems to have long-sense shattered, but the Equal Rights Amendment was never passed into law. Do we even need it?

Dianne Hanks strikes me as a very brave and courageous woman. She is a makeover expert. She does not hesitate to tell women how to behave like ladies and men how to behave like gentlemen. In fact, she has created both a video series on Youtube and a Squidoo lens through which to explain the rules as she seems them to the world. Would you like to see what Dianne has to say? Lamar,

I still like my doors opened by a man, I love flowers and taken to dinner. I like to be treated like a lady, I have raised my daughters the same. Their are two things that I do agree upon with the womens movement, equal pay for equal work, and the right to be heard. I prefer to be a stay at home mom, but their are circumstances that require many women to work to help support their families.

I treat men the same as any person, be they female or male. Respect is given where respect is due. I do not like foul language, it is not needed in order to communicate. I don't like aggressive behaviors also. I like a person who knows their mind and what they want from life and others.
Honesty, kindness, strength, faithful and true. Smiles!

Oh by the way, I use to be a natural blonde, now I color my hair to be that.

Enjoy the day, have a fun-tastic one.

Smiles!

to answer my own question - now that I think of it - in many offices and other locations there are restrooms that indicate that they are for both men and women - this would never have been acceptable back in Cornelius Vanderbilt's day on one of his steam boats -

At our company, we are not allowed to say things that might offend each other or the opposite sex, jokes, comments such as "I wish a man could have a baby" or "just like a man or woman" can cause one to be fired if someone is offended. Women who are pregnant work through their pregnancy to the very last day with no special treatment. They stand for long hours, carry objects up to 50 lbs., and are expected to do work as usual. If they do not comply they are terminated. I am not sure I agree with some of this, but it is the policies set forth.

Protocols for business have experienced change in this manner I am sure.

I confess I like the traditional model. The woman is in the kitchen. The man is at the barbecue pit. When I was growing up, boys were expected to do the "yard work" and the girls were expected to clean the house. If the action called for heavy lifting, that's a man's job. If the action called for something decorative, that was a woman's job. I have never felt the need to learn how to bake a cake, sew or knit. I once joined a health club and purchased a cook book. What a mistake. You get instructions to go to the grocery store and purchase seasonings with funny sounding names. Then, you are supposed to get all the measuring spoons to make sure you put in just the right amount of ingredients. Oh brother! I simply do not have the patients for all that.

I don't know what I would do had it not been for the invention of the microwave and the crock pot:)
