Addressing the Digital Literacy FailureViews: 101

John Stephen Veitch
Hello Everyone

Late last month I was doing a survey of Internet users. The data I collected shocked me, even though I had a foretaste of what the results would be like.

Following on from my survey, I've now built a web site to support the findings.
http://www.ate.co.nz/

I begin by explaining how people actually choose to use the internet.
Then I look at why they don't make different choices.

And I look at my own very mistaken understanding of the Internet and what I've been learning.
I look at the promise of the "Digital Super Highway".

I look at personal reasons people might have for becoming more digitally tuned in.

On a second Index page
http://www.ate.co.nz/free/

There are 10 more pages which discuss Internet use.
I hope I've kept it simple enough.
Feedback appreciated.

Regards
John

Hello Everyone

Finally getting some short videos into the web site regarding how people use the Internet. Three up, and three more later on today. (They take about 1.5 hours each to load using ftp.)

http://www.ate.co.nz/

In particular with regard to Building an Open Future, this page is right on topic.
http://www.ate.co.nz/tobe.html
and the video is available.

Feedback, either here on on the site is welcome.
